Description The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.
Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Responsibilities include: + Create/Develop and maintain automated reports and tools based off customer requirements + Be responsible for understanding the customers needs and pulling together the appropriate data to meet those needs + Develop and maintain key relationships with multiple business areas + Review and analyze results, assisting other business areas with issue resolution
Communicate high level summary results to business owners and leadership + Develop and improve processes and documentation to support best practices + Perform deep-dive analysis and answer questions around metric variances + Provide data in support of RFP/RFI request from Client Services + Generate formulary disruption reports for both current and potential clients + Perform ad-hoc analysis on an as-needed basis Required Qualifications + Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Statistics, Informatics, or related field + 2+ years experience completing data mining, manipulation, cleaning and technical analysis + Experience using technical and analytical tools to manipulate data (i.e.
SAS, R, SQL) + Demonstrable experience in interpreting and generating insights from the data + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills + Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships with customers + Candidates should have the ability to work on multiple projects with occasionally tight deadlines + Candidates should also possess the ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise appropriate business judgment Preferred Qualifications + Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics or related field.
Experience working with data in analytical systems + 2+ years of experience in Commercial/Medicaid lines of business + Six Sigma Certification
