Overview:

The Business Intelligence & Reporting Director will lead the business effort to rationalize, modernize and automate the Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) reporting capabilities. You will oversee the effort to transform how we enable our stakeholders through strategic reporting and insights as well as self-service and interactive tools. You will lead the business delivery of new reporting capabilities, migration of existing legacy reporting to strategic solutions and enabling self-service reporting capabilities. You will drive business process improvements, including automation and robotics, which will help drive efficiencies for the enterprise. Key relationships include GD&A's functional & segment leadership teams, our IT partners, community of analysts & data scientists, external vendors & key business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and delivering on a multi-year business and IT roadmap to rationalize, modernize and automate the GD&A reporting capabilities.

  • Partner with IT and our business stakeholders to implement self-service reporting capabilities.

  • Automate manual reporting across the enterprise to gain efficiencies, while leveraging authoritative data

  • Responsible for developing process standards and operating procedures aligned to:

  • Reporting awareness and rationalization

  • Reporting consolidation and resource efficiencies, to re-deploy resources for additional analytical needs

  • Knowledge of automation strategies and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

  • Extend scale and sustainability of services by building out long-term center of excellence model for enterprise reporting and analytics tooling support

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for continued growth and efficiencies.

  • Responsible for managing the overall department budget and developing a large matrixed team with our IT partners.

  • Drive delivery through agile ways of working with our matrix business and IT partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, IT, Analytics or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of progressive management experience in business intelligence, management information and insights and process improvements, with data warehousing knowledge

  • Experience in leading large scale automated and self-service reporting interactive analysis and reporting solution development and deployment.

  • Experience with data analysis and report development

  • Experience integrating components of metric generation into ongoing tools & processes to ensure accurate data capture and process adherence

  • Strong technical background related to report development, automation and data warehousing development

  • Strong consultative & leadership skills and change management experience that has been leveraged for enterprise wide initiatives

  • Strong delivery experience and understands full delivery lifecycle for delivering value to stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to think/act strategically and influence key leaders and matrix partners

Role Summary The Business Analytics Director position is an opportunity for a proven leader in the field who can set and execute the vision for how advanced embedded analytics can lead Cigna to achieving our growth goals. Reporting to the Head of Customer and Clinical Data and Analytics, this role will work collaboratively with our Consumer Health Engagement business stakeholders to provide strategic thought partnership in analytics, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for impact, developing analytics solutions, leveraging data science and technologic capabilities and embedding analytics driven processes. The Business Analytics Director is responsible for the execution of work in support of a large, Clinical Solutions Business unit which includes Chronic Coaching, Case Management, Utilization Management, and many other health advocacy solutions. The Director will need to understand the priorities and challenges of our clinical business partners and ensure the right informatics solutions (e.g. data, reporting or analytics) are applied. Key Accountabilities: * Contribute to developing and executing a multiyear customer service analytics strategy and roadmap for our clinical business stakeholders * Partner with the Head of Customer and Clinical Data and Analytics to craft long-term vision for operationalization of advanced analytics, build the business case, syndicate with senior leaders and secure commitment * Oversee the generation of analytics to understand the performance of Cigna's clinical solutions as well as test the effectiveness of novel ideation through test and learn. * Interact daily with the Product, Strategy, and Operations business leads for Consumer Health Engagement department to understand their strategy in order to best deploy analytics that help them achieve their business goals. * Identify and execute near-term initiatives to embed advanced analytics within business processes to challenge the status quo and drive an insight driven culture * Institute standardization and quality assurance across all aspects of delivery, including modeling, evaluations and opportunity analysis * Prioritize work across multiple project types such as opportunity sizing, data mining, predictive modeling, and comparative effectiveness evaluations. All for purposes of decision making and execution based on data, facts and analytical findings across different part of the Consumer Health Engagement organization * Work closely with other delivery functions such as Center of Excellence in Data Science, Center of Excellence in Evaluation and Reporting and various Information Technology COE partners. * Lead a business analytics team to develop innovative solutions through internal development and external partnerships. * Execute the talent strategy required to achieve meet business needs. Management entails providing individual and team leadership to business analytics team to ensure they are growing their capabilities and achieving their career goals Qualifications & Experience Required: * Minimum of a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science or equivalent work experience * Minimum 10 years' industry experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches * Required experience in medical delivery systems, health insurance content knowledge, and analytic and information management.
