As a Business Intelligence Development Specialist you will create and design information models for our Refining and Commercial systems. You will analyze data and create qualitative reporting solutions to enable the business to make critical business decisions. In this role, you will assist in the technical development, design, construction, upgrade and implementation of BI for Valero. You will change the way Valero produces information, as well as how we utilize data to make critical decisions that impact the entire organization. This role uses SAP HANA, BW and Business Objects to support business intelligence needs of the business by working in close collaboration with other teams, end-users, and other IS departments to meet the company's goals.

Work on moderate to complex tasks for the deployment of new solutions and enhancements/fixes.
Be organized and manage business user interactions including requirements gatherings, testing, training and post-implementation support.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Successful candidates will have:
A bachelor's degree (or higher) or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
Minimum 5 years of business or technical experience utilizing SAP BW or SAP HANA.
Understanding of SAP BusinessObjects BI configuration and performance tuning.
Basic skills using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Skype).
The most competitive candidates will have:

After acquiring Ultramar Diamond Shamrock in 2001, Valero began planning the construction of its state-of-the-art corporate headquarters at the edge of the Texas Hill Country in San Antonio, at Interstate 10 West and Loop 1604.
