A Business Intelligence Developer job is available with City of Fort Worth Water Department's Management Services Division. The candidate will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that databases are integrated with other systems and applications. They will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of company databases. The candidate will use their analytical skills to identify trends and patterns in data, and provide insights and recommendations to help the organization make informed decisions. Additionally, they will also be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven strategies to improve business operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major courses work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, or a related technology field.
Five (5) years of responsible experience with SQL developer, data warehousing, BI tools, IBM DB2 or related field
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
Data warehousing and business intelligence experience to include Power BI
Experience with content creation within the Google Looker platform (Looks and Dashboards)
Microsoft SQL Server Certified Database Administrator and Oracle Database experience
Experience supporting database environments within a local government/water utility
Experience creating reporting environments from database sources (SSIS packages and SSRS reporting.)
Experience with DB2 SQL (as400 iSeries), SQLRPG, RPGLE, iSeries job scheduler and system journals
The Business Intelligence Developer job responsibilities include:
Experience in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
Experience with BI technologies (e.g. Looker, Power BI)
Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Able to translate business needs to technical specifications
Design, build, and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. Looker, Power BI)
Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
Develop and update technical documentation
Manage database environments that include SQL, Oracle, DB2, and system specific (proprietary) databases
Ensure database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis
Design, install, and maintain SQL/Oracle databases
Ensure database data access, security, backup, and recovery
Execute BI queries and generate reports/dashboards
