Overview of Position

The Business Intelligence Data Analyst will be responsible for providing analysis of various of business data to ensure delivery of meaningful metrics and dashboards. This role will provide business recommendations for system enhancements and new capabilities, to achieve process improvements throughout the business unit.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Work with business analysts to interview stakeholders to determine data requirements required to support business reporting and analytics

  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements; and work with engineering to ensure data integrity and accuracy

  • Develop detailed data requirements for inclusion in product requirements

  • Use target data to recommend visualization patterns that facilitate the achievement of business insight

  • Apply business knowledge, analytical methods, and problem-solving skills to perform assignments and improve efficiencies within existing systems, tools, processes, functions, and applications

  • Up to 5% travel

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related work experience

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in a data analyst or other technical analyst role in healthcare

  • 5+ years of analytical and technical experience with data use and sources

  • Experience developing and implementing effective analytic frameworks and data visualizations

  • Solid understanding of enterprise master data, and data/information architecture

  • Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as TIBCO Spotfire, to create report wireframes and custom data extracts/visualizations

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Experience with healthcare data including provider and payer data needs, as well as clearinghouse data types such as ANSI X.12

  • Working knowledge of data warehouse and database technology

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to accomplish goals

  • Proficient in in using MS Office suite

  • Experience using Tableau

You will utilize various reporting tools, including Sequel queries, Looker, Excel, etc. You should be detail oriented to ensure reporting accuracy and have the ability to prepare actionable reports. Physician Practice Support (PPSI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Health Systems (CHS). Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst, Clinic Reporting is a member of the CBO Reporting team and supports the generation of operational metrics on a daily, weekly, monthly, or other based on operational and financial needs. You will utilize various reporting tools, including Sequel queries, Looker, Excel, etc. You should be detail oriented to ensure reporting accuracy and have the ability to prepare actionable reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned: * Supports data needs/analysis of the CBO, PPSI and Corporate Units. * Supports CBO and PPSI leadership in metrics, analysis, and ad hoc reporting including the development, evaluation, and reporting of key performance metrics (including financial, utilization, satisfaction, and operational), both contractually obligated and internal / operational. * Participate in the production of daily, monthly and annual evaluative and statistical reports, analyzing drivers of variances from period to period in order to ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounts receivable data and supporting details. * Supports quality assurance of reported data through the use of effective reconciliation processes. * Maintain a working knowledge of the applications utilized in the CHS provider practices as they relate to the acquisition and reporting of provider financial and quality measures. * Perform other tasks in support of specific internal/external customer requests and for the continual enhancement of the customer relationship, as required. This may include performing ad-hoc analyses, participating in project workgroups and supporting new customer account implementations. * Other Duties as may be assigned from time to time Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years' experience capturing and analyzing healthcare data, including but not limited to, accounts receivable, revenue and claims data. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups and to physicians, practice managers, clinic staff, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate with insurance carrier staff and vendor staff. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge and recent experience using the major Google applications. Knowledge of and extensive experience with SQL Server, Looker, Tableau, TeraData, PL/SQL, DBeaver, Power BI, and/or Oracle is essential. Also the complete suite of Microsoft Office tools with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Access. This should include a working knowledge of macros and/or VBA.
