SUMMARY:

Charged with leading the Business Intelligence (BI) Architecture and Engineering team tasked with the design and maintenance of the BI ecosystem which include the handling of databases, data warehousing, ETL processes, and tool administration. Formulates and/or defines system scope and objectives in direct support of the BI vision. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems related to BI systems environment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of the BI Architect and Engineering team members. Provides strategy and insight to the BI leadership team into the growth and performance of the BI infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Create and communicate status reports in accordance with department standards.

Lead BI infrastructure framework design to support team use of advanced analytics tools and processing.

Engage with peers and leadership to enhance process between BI Execution Functions.

Drive and specify global design and development principles for business solution reporting.

Develop requirement definitions for complex BI systems including required features, on-line and batch reports, interfaces with other systems, etc.

Support business Data Governance and other analytical initiatives.

Research and assess third party software and databases to incorporate BI datasets into essential business infrastructure.

Develop data warehouse process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.

Set standards to support database architecture within the organization which includes design, testing, and implementation.

Create detailed implementation plans and coordinates resources between complex implementations.

Establish documentation standards and multi-year support models.

Delegate operation tasks to team members in support of the BI systems environment.

Adhere to and support team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.

Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, business intelligence, STEM, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years of experience in data warehouse architecture and data modeling, preferably in a healthcare setting.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: EPIC certifications in Caboodle/Clarity development or has the ability to become certified within the first 6 months. Data warehouse certifications with Microsoft or Oracle are highly recommended.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Solid understanding and applied experience of relational database concepts, data warehousing, and data modeling.

• Strong SQL knowledge and applied experience.

• Data Transformation and Cleansing experience.

• Experience in working with DBAs in evaluating and enhancing system capabilities.

• Applied experience in assessing, optimizing, and maintaining effective and tuned data structures.

• Communication skills, both oral and written.

• Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

• Knowledge of how to evaluate systems and develop scope and document system needs.

• Experience in leading highly technical individuals.

• Experience with mentoring less experienced members of staff to provide growth and development.

• Experience in conflict resolution.

• Ability to respond to sensitive and/or confidential inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

• Ability to effectively present information to leadership.

• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
