Position: Business Intelligence Architect IV-Team Lead

Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday: 8:30AM-5:00PM

Full Time, Exempt

In This Role, You Will…

Be responsible for leading a team of Business Intelligence Architects in the design and implementation of datasets, integrations, and analytical infrastructure. Provide advanced experience and expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions as a key member of this highly productive team. Design, develop, and maintain the enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties:

  • Oversee and manage the daily activity of a team of Business Intelligence Architects, ensuring optimal performance and driving achievement of team goals. Provide training and supervision to ensure all assigned tasks are completed on time and accurately while maintaining compliance with company policies and federal/state laws.

  • Gather and process raw data from multiple disparate sources (including writing scripts, calling APIs, writing SQL queries, utilizing SSIS, etc.) into a form suitable for analysis.

  • Review and interpret ongoing business requirements. Research required data and build appropriate deliverables.

  • Refactor or develop relational data models, dimensional data models, data dictionaries, and necessary metadata using SSAS.

  • Research and propose opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

  • Code, test, and document new or modified data systems to create robust and scalable applications for analytics.

  • Perform a leading role in the design and direction of enterprise-wide data architecture and design documentation deliverables.

  • Create and maintain supporting technical and functional documentation, including data flow diagrams, and provide support for deployed solutions.

  • Work both independently and in collaboration with our application developers and data analysts to design and build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts.

  • Create advanced multi-leveled (drill-downs/sub-reports) tabular and graphical reports to meet user requirements using SQL and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI.

  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements through the design and implementation of policies, procedures, standardized documentation, and analytics infrastructure to enforce industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to ensure valid and proper deliverables.

  • Lead the maintenance of SQL Servers, identifying and troubleshooting faults as well as providing recommendations to ensure proper utilization.

  • Coordinate with management on team administrative matters such as performance appraisals and goal setting, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.

  • Promote the professional growth and development of individual team members through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and providing consistent, actionable feedback in periodic reviews.

  • Lead projects as assigned. Plan tasks of team members and manage resources to ensure successful and timely execution of project goals.

  • Complete projects, prioritize tasks, and provide frequent progress reports with limited direction, based on company needs.

  • Handle escalated problems and/or situations that are difficult and sometimes complex in nature and serve as the point of contact for resolving complicated issues.

  • Support business decisions with ad-hoc analysis as needed.

  • Participate in rotation of after-hours support.

  • Explain tasks and processes in a clear and concise manner to be consumed and understood by non-technical business associates.

  • Cultivate business relationships with stakeholders.

  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or related field; additional, applicable years of experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum of nine (9) years of related database development experience.

  • Previous experience leading software development teams and projects, working in capacities with decision-making authority, coordinating and delegating multiple responsibilities, and managing operations activities.

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft's SQL Server, SSRS, and SSIS, SSAS, and OLAP services.

  • Extensive experience with C#, capable of interacting with RESTful API's. Expert understanding of LINQ, ORM and Model Binding.

  • Extensive experience with Power BI required, preferably in an on-premises context.

  • Extensive experience in SQL Query, ETL, and Data Architecture.

  • Expert level in writing complex T-SQL code.

  • Advanced ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot problematic SQL code.

  • Advanced ability to design tables, data-marts, and/or databases to suit reporting needs.

  • Expert knowledge of data mapping, database design, and data warehouse concepts.

  • Extensive experience with SQL Database Administration.

  • Strong experience using Jira, Bitbucket, GitKraken, and/or SourceTree with a strong understanding of Git.

  • Strong experience with Cloud Related services, such as AWS Redshift, DynamoDB, or Amazon RDS.

  • Desire and ability to learn emerging technologies and methodologies.

  • Ability to interpret report requests and requirements in order to build appropriate automated solutions.

  • Ability to work with shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, & Outlook).

  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and notation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering Jira, Bitbucket, GitKraken, and/or SourceTree.

  • Consumer Lending/Financial Services experience.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: $120,000-$145,000 + Bonus
