SUMMARY:

Under limited direction, the Business Intelligence Analyst II will author, manage, and secure First Bank's data presentation layer with such outcomes as Dashboards, Reports, Alerts, and/or BI Data Models.

The Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for working with the Line of Business teams and analyzing information using a variety of techniques to ensure data is captured and communicated in an accurate and effective manner. The associate will use data intelligence skills and techniques to assess, monitor, and improve data-driven processes within the Bank. The BI Analyst will work with Line of Business (LoB) teams on data and reporting needs, LoB request priority, data and reporting quality, and data presentation effectiveness. Aim is for each Business Intelligence Analyst to be an expert within one Line of Business (such as Finance, Commercial, Small Business, Retail, ETC.) and cross train across the other LoB.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze business requirements/requests and processes and recommending solutions/automations to the management for implementation.

  • Provide end user support and training (navigation, report access, dashboard organization, etc.) on use of BI tools (Primarily PowerBI)

  • Assist with administrator of Data Team's management reporting software system; manage daily processing, updates and users.

  • Provide guidance and direction to LoB Business Intelligence teams and to Business Intelligence Analyst I team members.

  • Prepare dashboards and report development as required/requested.

  • Implement and continuously improve Business Intelligence tools (primarily PowerBI) and Dashboard reports.

  • Participate with development planning meeting and setting priorities/monitoring status.

  • Work with developers to ensure accurate and timely execution of programming/project requests; validation and documentation of testing before and after roll-outs.

  • Assist with creation and maintance of documentation that includes the design, requirements and user manuals for LoB reporting.

  • Identify efficiencies and development needs for streamlining and improving First Bank Data Delivery.

  • Aim for majority (if not all) the Dashboard/Reporting outcomes are automated.

  • Provide guidance and direction to LoB Business Intelligence teams and to Business Intelligence Analyst I team members.

  • Completes annual compliance courses.

  • Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

  • Adheres to all levels of our Service Excellence standards.

  • Performs other duties as required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge & Experience: These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  • At least one of

  • Certification in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 5+ years of data & analytics experience

  • Knowledge of FIS Horizon 360 and / or Cognos

  • Knowledge of Bank operations, products and services and other Bank operational policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience in the identification of innovative approaches to address moderately complex business problems and solutions.

  • Demonstrated expert-level communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to all levels of management.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct personnel.

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration. A valid driver's license is required. Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The environment is a professional office with standard office equipment.

Cognitive Requirements: Learning, thinking, concentration, ability to exercise self-control, ability to work in a customer relations' environment. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations' situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary.
