Sarpy County Business Intelligence Engineer SALARY $38.97 - $50.59 Hourly LOCATION NE 68046, NE JOB TYPE Full-Time JOB NUMBER 01172 DEPARTMENT Information Systems OPENING DATE 08/12/2024 CLOSING DATE 9/2/2024 11:59 PM Central JOB OVERVIEW ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Under the supervision of the Applications Manager, perform a variety of skilled technical and professional work by accurately and professionally providing a variety of reports and analytics for Public Safety and County organizations and personnel requiring considerable responsibility and independent judgment. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Officials, supervisors, employees, law enforcement staff, other agencies, and the general public.

Develop reporting mechanisms that help to ensure the timely, accurate delivery of information to internal and external departments and agencies. Prepare technical reports by data mining, collecting, exporting, integrating, cleaning, transforming, modeling, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends in a user friendly format. Review accuracy of data and reports, trace data back to root problem, and recommend corrections to supervisor.

Design, develop, create, and produce accurate reports and models utilizing Power Bl, Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, or other reporting software in a Microsoft SQL/T-SQL environment. Review reports to determine basic characteristics and report flow, format, distribution, and purpose of function of report; recommend establishment of new or modified report methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information. Install, trouble-shoot, and implement a variety of reporting software programs.

Confer with department and outside agency representatives to assess needs and recommend additions or modifications to achieve desired outcome. Coordinate meetings to consult and collaborate with departmental and cross-functional peers, managers and supervisors to discuss issues that may impact the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of data. Conduct analyses of functional business processes and requirements participate in developing business cases to support process changes and/or TS projects.

Design, create, and maintain custom report requests across client sites. Support and maintain a variety of reports in various formats. Maintain current knowledge of requirements, standards, and regulations related to the handling and processing of data.

Keep current with regulatory and professional advances in the Information Technology field. Maintain documentation of reports, processes, and procedures. Prepare a variety of studies, reports, and related information for decision making purposes.

Report to work with regular, predictable, and consistent attendance. Peripheral Duties Provide report training for various Public Safety and County organizations and personnel on software use and/or upgraded capabilities. Act as a contact person with software vendors.

Participate in meetings. Serve as a member of various committees, as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field from an accredited college or university required. Three (3) years' work experience with Power Bl, Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, and Microsoft SQL/T-SQL, along with working in a position requiring end-user analysis required. Experience with Esri mapping products desirable.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally will be exposed to outside weather conditions, temperature variations, and wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet in the office and moderate to loud in the field.

Due to the nature of the department, the employee must be available days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
