Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in data sets to locate influences. Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. May directly produce data sets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
Extract and aggregate data from a variety of databases and systems,
Conduct in depth interpretation and statistical analysis of the data, and present reports, findings, and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.
Build and maintain operational and portfolio KPI's, dashboards, and summaries.
Apply statistical analysis experience and skills to identify potential portfolio or operational trends and improvement opportunities.
Prepare monthly board packages and other required reporting.
Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
FORECASTING AND MODELING
Produce and submit monthly and quarterly forecasts for gross charge offs, bankruptcies, and collection recoveries.
Maintain and improve modeling capabilities and explain forecasting variances.
Provide weekly updates on net charge off progress to management.
Assist Portfolio Risk Analytics Manager in the credit loss forecasting process.
Provide frequently updated project forecasts for revenue and savings to Manager and project Sponsor.
OPPORTUNITY IDENTIFICATION AND EXECUTION
Identify operational or portfolio performance related opportunities within Risk Management, through data, operations, and process analysis.
Opportunities can include credit loss reduction, fee revenue growth, or operational process improvements that drive savings.
Lead projects that deliver results from original concept through final implementation, following a disciplined and methodical project management approach.
Create and maintain operational capacity plans and analysis, and working with leadership to manage.
Prepares materials for our partners and for Portfolio Policy Committee, and participates in meetings.
Supports operational software and vendor management.
Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
Intermediate analytical and technical software capabilities
Advanced MS Excel, Access, and Oracle database experience
Beginner level SAS experience
Experience with Peoplesoft or Business Objects
Beginner level statistical analysis and modeling with tools such as Minitab or SAS
3-5 years credit and collections experience
1-3 years demonstrated experience with process improvement methodologies
Certification in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma/Business Process Management
Strong communication skills written and verbal
Project management experience
Intermediate level analytical risk and portfolio management; Understanding and knowledge of portfolio dynamics with the ability through analytics to identify and evaluate credit, industry and economic risks
