Position Overview

The Business Applications group at the Davey Tree Expert Company works as a team to focus on improving internal processes, making it easier to do business with Davey, supporting internal and external clients with technology and providing expertise in managing various projects. While we work primarily with SAP, we also develop mobile applications, integrate best-of-breed applications with SAP, provide insight through analytics, and support client-facing transactional systems.

The Business Innovation Engineer / Analyst is responsible for providing different parts of the organization with Process Improvement expertise and engaging in expert-level low-code development to address a myriad of process not in scope for our normal enterprise applications. This role is also responsible for leading software selection activities when existing platforms will not work for a particular use case and will work within the software selection governance process to appropriately select and implement new tools as needed. The successful candidate will hav expertise building applications with low-code tools such as SAP Build, GoFormz, or AgilePoint etc. The successful candidate will also have experience with integrating these tools with enterprise applications.

This position reports to the Business Applications Manager.

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Business Users to gather requirements for workflow processes.

  • Identify opportunities for improvements to both in process efficiency and data quality in the existing manual processes.

  • Identify integration opportunities with our ERP and CRM systems.

  • Decide the most appropriate systems to use in each forms/workflow solution.

  • Design, configure/develop, and test the forms/workflow solutions.

  • Assist in training the end-users of the forms/workflow solutions.

  • Design solutions that encompass the full value chain, from initial data entry to decision-focused analytical results.

  • Consider security implications when implementing solutions.

  • Write and maintain forms/workflow documentation.

  • Monitor the performance and usage of the forms/workflow systems.

Job Duties Continued

  • Work closely with the Business Applications, Organizational Change Management, Business Analytics, and Technical Services teams to ensure the solutions meet our architectural standards.

  • Provide training on the platform(s) to designated Business Users to encourage wider participation in the form/workflow development process.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years full-time experience with low code and/or workflow tools

  • At least 2 year full-time experience with Process Mapping

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with all levels within the company required.

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic required. Consulting experience is a plus. Must be able to lead initiatives with little supervision.

  • Experience with a process improvement methodology such as Lean or Six Sigma strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team-oriented collaborative environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, complex tasks and demands. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to forge direction.

  • Experience with UX (User Experience) design preferred.

  • Strong organizational and relational skills required. Must be able to interact professionally and confidently with both C-Level executives and staff-level employees.

  • Experience building analytics & dashboards and using those to produce actionable insight to senior management strongly preferred.

  • Experience as a team lead strongly preferred.
