Anthem's Access to Care Reimagine team is looking for innovative, high energy problem solvers to play an integral role in cross-functional matrixed teams as we power Anthem's future and significantly improve customer experience in the crucial Access to Care journey.

Our team's vision is to Reimagine all aspects of our members' Access to Care journey so they receive high quality affordable care at the right time and right place, and our providers are able to focus on delivering that much needed care. We will pursue E2E opportunities that maximize our members', providers' and associates' experiences, improve health outcomes and drive medical cost trend improvement and efficiencies. We will leverage exponential technologies and effectively assemble digital, data and analytical assets and capabilities in this endeavor.

As part of this Reimagine effort, we will:

  • Create visibility into the current customer experience in critical moments that matter in driving access to affordable high quality care

  • Define the reimagined future state customer experiences

  • Drive cross-functional connectivity in what, why, and how we deliver to our customers

  • Create accountability for delivery of people, process, and technology improvements and subsequent goal realization

  • Advance key behaviors and mindset changes to scale customer-centricity across the enterprise

The Business Information Developer Director will bring a critical business information, data and analytics underpinning and discipline to each E2E Reimagine opportunity or pod that our team advances. The role will work hand-in-hand with the Principal Consultant leading the pod, and engage a team of matrixed cross-functional digital, data science and analytical resources to develop, execute and synthesize strategic analysis to identify high value capabilities and solutions that will Reimagine specific process steps that will bend medical cost trend and/or admin expense.

Primary duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts strategic data analysis at an expert level across multiple data domains in support of the Reimagine Pods - with a keen eye to connecting the dots across domains and being able to stitch a story of what the data is telling.

  • Collaborates and coordinates with associates across various data analytics teams to conduct the strategic data analysis across domains. Sample enterprise areas to connect to will be Care Management Operational Reports and Analytics, Enterprise Data Analytics, Service Operations Insights and Analytics, Enterprise Data Science, Actuarial and Finance.

  • Works closely with Principal Consultant to present the data analysis insights and recommendations in an easy to consume simple format for executives and workshops

  • Applies broad knowledge, experience, and insight to make smart decisions and recommendations.

  • Cultivates positive professional & interpersonal relationships with various stakeholders.

  • Effectively uses coaching, influencing, negotiation, and persuasion in interpersonal interactions.

  • Understands complex problems quickly, proposes solutions, and provides clear direction.

  • Undertakes complex assignments and projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge including data structures and application of query and analysis tools.

  • Develops very complex and varied strategic report applications and analyses.

  • Establishes and communicates common goals and direction for the analysis effort.

  • Establishes and maintains advanced knowledge of data structures, database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and data integrity issues.

  • Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.

  • Must be able to recognize when a strategic change in process is required and direct resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the desired business results.

  • Partners with Principal Consultant to Monitor project schedules and costs for own and other analysis projects.

  • Develops and supports very complex Data -related applications and analyses for Reimagine pods requiring design and implementation of data tables and structures.

  • Assures quality and integrity of data collected, analysis performed, and reports generated.

  • Develops methods for improving internal techniques and processes. Utilizes multiple data systems to accomplish objectives.

  • Functions as an independent operator and feels comfortable talking to the Executive Leadership team (ELT).

  • Requires a BS/BA degree. Advanced or Master's degree in business, science, or health research is preferred.

  • 8-10 years' experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience in managed care and data analysis required. Good appreciation for medical cost, cost of care and clinical data sets preferred.

  • Understanding of multiple data sources and formats required. Excellent knowledge and understanding of data warehouse structures, data flows and standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages is also required.

  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational, planning, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization including executives.

  • Ability to travel 25+% as needed

  • Must demonstrate effective situational leadership, quick and continuous learning style and high impact communication skills
