The College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is seeking a Graduate Student Outreach and Admissions Specialist (Outreach Specialist) to represent the College on campus and in the community. The primary role is to increase exposure of the business graduate programs; Masters of Professional Accountancy and Masters of Business Administration, as well as others that may be developed. The Outreach Specialist will lead the marketing, recruiting and admissions phases of the student life cycle, with a focus on increasing student enrollment and retention in our programs. The position works collaboratively across campus with the University's Office of Graduate Studies, marketing and communications department, admissions department, and any other appropriate departments to ensure a consistent and accurate message regarding the business graduate programs is being disseminated. The Outreach Specialist will also create and maintain communications to prospective and existing students, build and sustain community and employer partnerships and relationships related to continuing education (not necessarily employment). The position reports directly to the Associate Dean of the College of Business and works closely with the Chair of the Department of Accounting and the graduate program faculty.

Duties/Responsibilities
40% Implements outreach and recruiting activities using available university resources, on and off campus; coordinates and participates in various facets of the recruiting program including on-campus visitation events, off-campus visitation events, informational sessions, career fairs, graduate school fairs, site visits, and networking events. Provides admissions counseling and academic planning to prospective students; Conducts targeted follow-up communications (email, phone, web, social media, and text) with prospective students from initial contact through enrollment into a program.
20% Executes an advertising and marketing plan to increase the internal and external exposure of graduate degrees offered through the College of Business. Maintains and distributes promotional materials relevant to the plan including but not limited to brochures, flyers, postcards, and newsletters. Maintains social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn for any business graduate program. Works as part of the College of Business Communications Team.
10% Utilizes assessment tools and strategic enrollment management principles to evaluate effectiveness of recruiting events and marketing plan; stays relevant on general public relations and marketing trends in graduate education. Modifies and refines recruiting events and marketing plan to keep each viable and relevant and to achieve strategic enrollment goals.
20% Develops relationships and expand current relationships with businesses and other schools to connect prospective students to continuing education opportunities or degree programs. Assists in identifying new partnerships to sponsor continuing education programs, scholarships, events, etc.
10% Assists the Associate Dean of the College with general program support.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Experience in recruiting or participating in community related outreach.

Experience with data gathering.

Experience with enrollment management.

Valid Driver's LIcense.

Have a method of transportation or the ability to obtain a method of transportation that allows for traveling to and from events with recruitment materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.
2-5 years recruiting students in higher education.

Experience using Student Data Management System such as Banner or related system.

Demonstrated skills in creating marketing and promotional materials (or related items) and using social media campaigns in a professional manner.

Experience leading informational sessions or workshops.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently as well as with a team.

VIEW JOBS 7/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-13T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY: The Admissions Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and the implementation of Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA) functions, processes and procedures for Clayton Early Learning School and programs. This position oversees ERSEA systems to monitor, track, build, and maintains an interest list and a wait list through recruitment and marketing efforts to ensure that School and all program options maintain full enrollment. This position supervises the Admissions Program Associate. In addition, this person is responsible for reporting ERSEA status to all funders and policy council and policy committee. Works directly with prospective families seeking to enroll in the program and provides tours and program information. In the recruitment area, this position networks with community agencies to market our services. This position also facilitates processes and new opportunities for the program in order to increase our interest list and visibility in the community. Uses and analyzes data trends to advise and assess program quality improvement in this area. This position also works in conjunction with the Family Engagement Teams to coordinate and facilitate approved community events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * In accordance with Head Start performance standards, ACF, licensing, and organization guidelines, provides high quality recruitment, enrollment, selection, and outreach support services. * Populates, audits, and monitors the programs interest list, enrollment and waitlists, ensuring reliable data at all times. Synthesizes data to identify critical recruitment sources. Performs monthly, quarterly and yearly data audits of identified data. * Is a member of the enrollment team and participates in the acceptance and approval process. Supports enrollment activities by seeking and developing relationships with prospective families by participating and monitoring recruitment outcomes, As the supervisor, ensures that the Admissions Program Associate who responds to enrollment inquiries from the interest list and website requests, solicits and ensures the entry of enrollment interest forms, informs families of the enrollment process and the documents required for eligibility, enrollment, and entry. * Responsible for supporting transitions and mapping children to openings in all program options. * Develops and maintains the recruitment plan and calendar to include a comprehensive list of recruitment sites, monthly activities, staff participation and outcomes. Works with the Family Engagement Mentor Coaches to ensure and schedule staff involvement in recruitment events. Regularly informs leadership of the effectiveness of the recruitment process and the state of the interest list. * Leads planning and implementation of staff involvement in recruitment events. * Builds partnerships within the community, organizes monthly community events, and attends community outreach events in order to actively recruit families for the interest list. * Provides supervision to the Admissions Program Associate in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Ensures that this position responds to enrollment inquiries from the interest list and website requests, solicits and ensures the entry of enrollment interest forms, informs families of the enrollment process and the documents required for eligibility, enrollment, and entry. * Initiates personnel actions such as interviews and hires; manages staff performance such as directs work, appraises performance, rewarding and disciplinary measures, and professional development; promotes positive employee relations through open communication, reflective supervision and prompt resolution of issues. * Leads the programs communication relative to recruitment for enrollment. Creates, modifies and distributes marketing materials to community, staff, and families in collaboration with the Clayton Early Learning leadership team. * Participates in marketing and social media efforts with Clayton Early Learning. * Actively participates and communicates regularly with community collaborative contracted agencies for recruitment and to maintain enrollment. * Ensures that all program vacancies are filled within thirty days. * Attends and facilitates regularly scheduled meetings. * Provides reflective supervision on an ongoing basis to Admissions Program Associate. * Maintains filing/record keeping systems, policies, handbooks, and other appropriate sets of information and resources as it relates to the position. * Is responsible for regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule and Clayton Early Learning policies. OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: In collaboration with the enrollment team: * Meets with team lead on weekly or bi-weekly basis. * Audits child files for ERSEA compliance, reports findings, and follows up to ensure corrections. * Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competency in affect, language, method, and delivery. * Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the quality of the programs. * Demonstrates responsible professional behavior by participating effectively within and across teams. * Attends all training sessions and meetings as required to participate in communication within the Clayton Early Learning Program and to meet the training needs of the position. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Minimum education: Bachelors degree in Business Management with a special focus on Relationship Management, Strategic Planning, Marketing, Recruiting, Business Development, or equivalent experience in a related field required. MA Preferred Work experience in positions similar to this job: 3-5 years experience in related field including 1-2 years of supervisory experience. The majority of this position's duties are performed within an indoor or a protected environment. The incumbent may be exposed to adverse weather and congested traffic conditions while traveling to and from Clayton Early Learning locations. May be exposed to medical/health conditions of known and unknown origin, human body fluids, the threat of direct or indirect violence/conflict by other individuals, and other unanticipated circumstances associated with the profession.
