The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Business Development/Loan Officer role in the Philadelphia, PA market. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing and maintaining a portfolio of relationships in support of the regions overall goals. Responsibilities will include interfacing with customers, all levels of management, staff and product specialists.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $100K, an excellent benefits package and is bonus eligible.

Business Development/Loan Officer responsibilities include:

  • Developing and expanding new banking relationships with business prospects and maintaining existing business banking client base to achieve established goals.
  • Processing requests for commercial loans by interviewing prospective and existing individuals and evaluating their creditworthiness.
  • Determining eligibility and approves loans within specified limits to comply with the Banks policies and procedures and Federal Regulations.
  • Collecting delinquent commercial business loans and works with the legal department on defaulted loans.
  • Understanding and ensuring that commercial loan accounts are serviced according to the Banks policies and regulatory requirements. Monitoring loan relationships on a continuing basis to insure loan quality and minimize risk.
  • Insuring accurate documentation of credit approval terms and collateral. Reviewing and evaluating required searches, financial statements, and credit reports.
  • Completing loan renewals by verifying new data with current data, adjusting and preparing input forms.
  • Reviewing loan advances by verifying credit limits, commitment expirations and account statuses.
  • Completing loan adjustments by preparing input information, calculating rate changes, interest discrepancies, etc.
  • Controlling loans by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures and standards.
  • Identifying the status of commercial loan portfolio by verifying and preparing reports.
  • Contributing decision-making information to Business Loan Committee by analyzing loan requests, notes, terms, security, etc., and presenting administrative issues for approval.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Completing periodic training/certification for, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Five or more years business lending/credit analysis experience.
  • Formal credit training preferred.
  • Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements and tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
