This Business Development Executive is responsible for developing and establishing relationships between the company, strategic partners and customers. Duties include identifying, developing, and implementing near-term and long-term business strategies that grow revenue for the company.
Individual will lead a team that prepares and submits proposals in pursuit of business in the US and international defense marketplace. Requires a deep understanding of the customer across all defense services and the fourth estate from both the operations and procurement standpoint. May have other business development activities, such as investigating and evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, geographic expansions, licensing, partnerships, joint ventures, new business/market opportunities and sustainability to determine if such activities are in line with the organization's overall strategy and vision.
Recommends the allocation of resources between existing and new businesses. Continuously monitors the market to keep track of competitor developments and their impact on market share.
IMPACT: Decisions drive the long-term success, failure, profitability and growth of the group, division, function.
COMPLEXITY: Establishes strategies for the group, division or function, in collaboration with executive leadership team. Problems and issues faced are complex and require consideration of variables that are cross organizational.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates and negotiates with parties within and outside of own job function and organization. Requires ability to communicate with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization.
LEADERSHIP & TALENT MANAGEMENT: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people.
Manages a Group, which includes multiple teams led by directors and managers. Responsible for developing mid to long-term plans on how to optimize his/her group and the talent required to execute strategies for the job area.
KNOWLEDGE: Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead Group.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically has broader practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization's business practices. 15 years or greater experience with a Bachelor's degree required, Masters desired.
