Job Description Job Description The purpose of the position of Business Development Specialist is to integrate, manage and administer the growth and expansion of our business through strategic partnerships, market analysis and innovative initiatives to increase non-dues revenues. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Duties Related to Business Development: 1. Develop, manage, and coordinate sponsorship programs across all TVMA departments, including VPAC (Veterinary Political Action Committee), to ensure that prospects receive a comprehensive view of opportunities within TVMA and receive the applicable level benefits. Includes maintaining the TVMA Business Opportunities and Sponsorship Opportunities documents. 2.

Oversee TVMA compliance with provision of sponsorship benefits and communication with those sponsors. 3. Develop and maintain relationships with potential and current allied industry members to elevate their sponsorship potential. Serve as the staff liaison for the Industry Advisory Committee. 4.

Procure and contract exhibition booth sales from vendors with products and services appropriate to and desired by veterinary professionals. Includes the creation of the Exhibitor Prospectus. 5. Assists with the TVMA Annual Conference by serving as Exhibit Floor Manager and as point of contact with exhibitors and sponsors. 6.

Manage the advertising contracts for the digital and print publications, including recruiting advertisers, executing contracts, and ensuring accurate and timely billing, insertion, and distribution. 7. Support the Business Alliance Committee in developing and securing a portfolio of strategic Business Alliance partnerships with TVMA. 8. Oversee establishment and maintenance of third-party vendor to supply TVMA logo merchandise for purchase by interested parties resulting in revenue for TVMA. 9.

Oversee relationships that afford TVMA opportunity for online revenue through social media 10. Provide regular reports and updates on business development activities to include progress and results. Qualifications and Requirements: 1.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field. 2. Minimum three years proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles. 3. Experience in a professional association preferred. 4.

Experience in or around the veterinary industry is a plus. 5. Strong verbal, telephone, and written communication skills, including ability to exercise diplomacy and use sound judgment in dealing with association members, exhibitors, advertisers, sponsors, and the public. 6.

Must be highly organized and possess the ability to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities with periods of high stress while meeting deadlines. 7.

Computer literacy and proficiency with common business application software such as Microsoft Office. Experience using MemberSuite or other association management systems is highly valued. 8. Team player who works well with staff, members, volunteers, and business community 9. Availability for travel and to work some evenings and weekends.
