ABB is seeking a Business Development Specialist for its new Home Automation business at Los Angeles, California location. This role is responsible for supporting the Global Business Unit and the Local Sales Unit in gathering local market intelligence, and support the implementation of local business strategies and business plans for new market opportunities and white spots aligned to identified market needs and growth areas.

Senior professionals ( > 5 years of work experience)


Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Generate demand for new products by targeting Residential Builders, Developers, General Contractors, Electrical Contractors and System Integrators.

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.

  • Coordinate market analysis with sales team and product marketing managers and define appropriate forecast and plans. Evaluate and share customer research, market conditions and competitor data.

  • Convey project development progress to team members.

  • Draft the business case for new product development.

  • Map product conversion opportunities within ABB group.

  • Support the local product marketing managers on new product launches, concept's, and roll out.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Sales, Business Development or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Management or related field

  • Experience in the Home Automation, Smart Home, Luxury Residential Construction, or Security product markets
