Job Description


The Business Development Representative opportunity prepares entry level candidates for an exciting and rewarding career at Curvature and plays a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The 3 month on-boarding program focuses on building product knowledge and developing sales skills through on-the-job training and development. You must be excited about prospecting new business, developing and cross-selling within accounts, and targeting key decision makers within the small to medium business marketspace. This role has excellent growth potential within the sales organization for an industry leader in the IT space!


  • Qualify and produce quality leads for the Account Executives at Curvature

  • Interact by phone and email with key contacts up to, and including, C-level executives

  • Train on our various product lines (Dell, HP, and Cisco)

  • Learning the mechanics of procuring IT hardware globally

  • Explore our operations center and digest the complexities of international logistics

  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of the complete capabilities of Curvature's solution including maintenance support, professional services, servers, storage and Cisco networking equipment


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a sales or customer service oriented position or equivalent internship experience


  • Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred

  • Experience utilizing Salesforce or other CRM application

  • Highly motivated and strong initiative

  • Ability to build strong customer relationships and interact with varying levels

  • Demonstrated effective organizational and detail-orientation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills including verbal, written and presentation

  • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making capability

  • Ability to learn, analyze, understand and convey complex information

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and computer skills are essential as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel & PowerPoint

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Interface with other departments as needed to drive business within accounts and resolve any issues that may arise. May provide direction / assignments to Sales Support Representatives, Senior Sales Support Representatives, and Sales Support Managers to help develop sales business. Specific responsibilities include: * Demonstrate an ability to build and/or establish strong relationships with new accounts and within major existing accounts including product managers, buyers, planners, etc. * Meet or exceed sales and profit goals established by upper management. * Develop and Execute upon business plans with Business Development Manager, NAM or Sales Director to meet those goals. * Strive to increase net sales by reducing Returns and Allowances. * Exhibit strong leadership skills and motivate sales team to perform their duties in excellent fashion. * Assist customers with all account related questions, issues, or concerns. Provide accurate, timely information to the customers regarding inquiries such as products, pricing, and quotes. * Manage and maintain monthly reporting on account performance. Share findings with the team as necessary. * Assist sales team with all account related questions, issues, and concerns. * Follow the sales team's procedures for managing and maintaining opportunity pipeline, quotes, bids, etc. and be prepared to present that information when requested. * Keep a monthly recap of sales calls, including potential opportunity worth in dollars, and be prepared to present that information when requested. * Assist in optimizing profitability at each assigned account. * Manage and/or coordinate sales and training programs as needed for the customer. * Travel to tradeshows and customer sites required. * Learn and remain proficient on the Belkin product lines. * Conduct self in professional and courteous manner. * Take full responsibility for individual actions. * Maintain a safe and clean work environment. * Understand and follow company rules and regulations. * Fulfill responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system. * Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001, understand and fully support ISO system. * Perform all other duties as assigned and required. Education and Experience Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. * One to three years' experience in a sales capacity or equivalent position. Depending on channel, previously industry experience may be required. * Proven track record of sales growth and/or prospecting. * Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy is required. * Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong presentation skills required. * Excellent phone skills and etiquette required, as the majority of business is done over the phone. * Willingness and ability to travel 35-40% international and/ or domestic.
