Position Overview:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying and qualifying net-new enterprise sales opportunities into the EAS pipeline. This is a qualifying position and not a transaction sales position. Candidates will need to be skilled in qualifying and not necessarily closing sales. The BDR will effectively engage with ideal prospects through outbound sales activities and communicate BuildASign's value proposition tailored to potential clients' needs, in order to create interest. Successful BDRs are results-driven, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, are passionate about their company and product, and can quickly build rapport and trust with prospects.

Desired Outcomes:

  • Understand customers' business needs to establish a strong partnership relationship with enterprise clients

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of BuildASign's products and sales process with a strong ability to align value

  • Expertise in gaining access to decision makers up to and including the appropriate Director and VP-levels, and proficiency in aligning BuildASign's product suite to create value and meet client needs

  • Possess a hunter mentality, with the ability to execute on outbound prospecting activities including strategic account research, cold calling, and email marketing

  • Uncover detailed information around client budget, forecasted need, and timeline in order to accurately qualify true sales opportunities into the Account Executive pipeline

To be successful in this role one must demonstrate:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Teamwork to successfully with EAS and cross-departmentally


  • 3-5 years of experience in inside sales or business development role working on qualifying enterprise opportunities

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Consistent over-quota performance and top tier company ranking

  • Must be highly organized with the ability to work multiple opportunities through your pipeline simultaneously

  • Support and build relationships with Enterprise Account Executives

  • Sharp, self-motivated and skilled at researching and hunting new opportunities

  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus

Brightpearl is headquartered in Bristol in the UK and Austin, Texas in the US.</p> <p><strong>About the Business Development Representative Role</strong></p><p>The primary role of the Business Development Representative is to generate new business opportunities by finding and qualifying leads and following proven processes to prospect into new business accounts. You’ll learn how to identify and research lists of companies to target, and how to develop email and telephone campaigns to generate new business opportunities.</p><p>The Business Development Representative will conduct high-level conversations with business owners and operational staff about their business and the challenges they face with their operations. </p><p>You will be working closely with an account executives and solution consultants, marketing, customer success managers and Partner Managers. Being a smaller team, you have access to all departments and will have the chance to work with key decision makers. You will work together with all of these co-workers to help our customers define, adopt and validate the value of Brightpearl. This model is a crucial source of demand generation - happy customers advocate Brightpearl and help drive demand.</p><p>The successful candidate will be a strongly self-motivated and driven individual who is outcome-oriented, methodical and tenacious, and can effectively interact with a team. This position has advancement potential within the sales organization, and the compensation package includes an uncapped commission structure.
