Today Piedmont Plastics is seeking an exceptional Business Development Representative to add to our Corporate Sales team. As a Key member of the Corporate Sales team that is responsible for the development and profitable growth of new business within an assigned industry segment by utilizing extensive industry, application and product knowledge. This position will be responsible for building our knowledge, presence and market position within a specified industry by performing the following duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver profitable revenue growth through new account development and key account management.
Establish sales plan and objectives to close business and develop the assigned industrial market(s). Plan should include short term sales goals, articulate long term viability of this market and include competitive environment and specific business opportunities.
Maintain strong knowledge of the assigned industry segment to identify B2B sales Opportunities and define strategy to develop and close business (sales) by utilizing the Piedmont Sales System (PSS), business philosophies and methodologies.
Proactively identify and pursue Prospective customers to build pipeline of future Opportunities and business relationships.
Maintain knowledge and relationships within the primary industry including various sub-segments where the greatest plastic application opportunities exist.
Conduct in-person B2B end user presentations and engage customers on all levels.
Work closely with branch sales teams to further customer relationships and manage opportunities locally.
Utilizes CRM(customer relationship management) tool to track customer activity,collect market and customer intelligence and establish regular communication regarding on-going and follow-up activities.
Display proficiency in gathering and analyzing market information and intelligence. Keep abreast of competitive activities, pricing trends and market share information (analysis).
Pursue new products and applications to enhance and strengthen our product line and value added service offerings.
Assist Branch and Purchasing Management with understanding inventory needs and expectations, to serve key and prospective customers and markets.
Personally maintain excellent supplier relationships and communicate regularly with Director of Business Develpment and Supply Chain on critical ongoing activities.
Establishes personal and advanced training on materials, applications and sales skills and techniques related to the assigned industrial market and applications. Creates training curriculum and conducts training for local branch sales teams when required.
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years of outside sales experience in plastics, industrial distribution or graphics-related sales experience with a track record of exceeding assigned sales goals
A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two year's related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in plastics, industrial distribution or graphics-related sales
A personal vehicle in good condition
Basic computer skills
A willingness and desire to travel almost exclusively and the schedule to allow some overnight travel as well
A positive attitude and are a team player!
