Business Development Manager

Spokane Transit is looking for a Business Development Manager with superior interpersonal relationship skills and proven experience creating and implementing business development strategies.

As the Business Development Manager your primary objective is to increase ridership through the development of new pass programs with large organizations and increase pass sales through Spokane Transit's Group Sales channel. You will be responsible for creating and implementing performance strategies that increase fare revenue and ridership in all service categories. You will collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Manager and the Web Services Manager to identify outreach and communication strategies to attract new business and increase overall pass sales and ridership.

Using your customer relationship management experience, data analysis skills, and field-based sales abilities, you will identify new business opportunities to help take Spokane Transit's ridership and pass sales to the next level.

YOU HAVE

  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Exhibit a strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.

  • Ability to build relationships with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence".

  • Leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or communications.

  • First-hand experience meeting business-to-business sales objectives.

  • Experience in business development, communications, and data analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Program Management

  • Oversee the Employer Sponsored Bus Pass (ESBP) Program, Group Sales, and the Universal Transit Access Pass (UTAP) Program and pass sales at all contracted retail outlet locations.

  • Create and implement growth strategies to increase participation.

  • Recommend the development of new or amended programs to increase pass sales and ridership.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Overhaul the CRM process to improve the customer experience and to quickly identify and understand changes in pass sales and ridership data.

  • Consolidate information gathered through an updated CRM service will be used for data analysis and reporting, as well as to inform pass sales opportunities.

Data Analysis, Reporting and Administration

  • Regularly review various data sets and develop reports.

  • Identify and understand shifts and trends in ridership, pass sales, contract billing and Customer Relationship Management activity.

Field Work and Sales Activity

  • Identify new business opportunities through participation in business-related events.

  • Regularly contacting new businesses to share information about STA's programs and services.

  • Expand retail outlet sales as the agency shifts to an account-based fare payment structure.

Prepare, assess and respond to monthly forecast information. * Develops and maintains donor recognition programs in assigned territory. * Follows established sales/recruitment process (including projection accuracy); maintains and ensures accuracy and timeliness of account information. * Builds relationships with external departments and internal staff. Communicates effectively to coordinate blood drives and in-center activities. Represents the Company through personal contacts, public speaking engagements and educational presentations. * Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge/Education Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience required. Licenses/ Certifications Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, required. Experience * At least one year related experience in territory sales management, prospecting, cold calling, relationship skills, and customer service. Experience in Marketing or Public Relations desired.
