This role is accountable for achieving pipeline, sales, and business development efficiency results that meet or exceed assigned targets. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging in strategic opportunities, developing new clients, and driving new capabilities into target accounts. The role includes an individual sales contributor target comprising pipeline qualification and sales achievement along with willingness to work with a small company and take upon additional responsibilities.The Business Development Manager will personally develop and sustain client executive relationships through market-facing activities (e.g., industry associations, boards, and conferences), meetings, presentations, business networking and/or other business or social events.Position Requirements:
  • Proven track record in business development and program management supporting and leading marketing, capture, and/or program execution in federal government contracting work.
  • Exceptional communications and relationship building skills facing federal government civilian and military customers.
  • Proven experience in developing, capturing, and growing new business in an organization with diverse programs. Specific success in marketing new business and client areas to attain new opportunities and win competitive procurements is critical. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong ability to win new business ("close the deal").
  • Identify and qualify specific sales opportunities.
  • Develop capture tactics, win strategies, discriminators, competitive analysis, and teaming strategies that balance program risk and reward with minimal supervision.
  • Facilitate corporate reviews; create presentations for and lead Stage Reviews and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Proposal and Pricing development experience highly desirable.
  • Should be able to take on multiple responsibilities.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Proven record as a team player.
  • Unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character.
  • Previous experience in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing new products or services.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to interface and negotiate with senior executives.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or technical discipline, with a minimum of 10 years related experience with DOD or federal government agencies.
  • Experience from both the government and industry perspective is highly desired.
