This position exists to expand LexisNexis custom publishing partner relationships, identify and acquire new publishing/sales partnerships and opportunities for custom legal publications in all 50 states by developing lasting relationships with state agencies and associations to drive business unit success. This position is responsible for leading the full range of business development activities from creating strategic plans, finding and closing new partnership opportunities, and implementing new publishing relationships.
1.Aggressively support and drive new business of assigned products and services across all 50 states.
2.Create and execute strategic plan to drive incremental revenue streams through government and association partnerships, marketing alliances, and product and/or solution alliances
3.Lead identification of partners and execute all transaction elements: due diligence, transaction structure, agreement terms, negotiating strategy and negotiations, and closing management
4.Support product, marketing and sales organization by forming marketing alliances that drive leads to sales force and compliment strategic priorities
5.Drive publishing alliances to maximize revenue potential
6.Identify appropriate contacts and decision makers within a prospect.
7.Develop and deliver effective sales presentations to key decision makers within a prospect.
8.Monitor business development financial performance and modify strategy to drive required growth and revenue
9.Other duties as assigned
1.Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; JD/MBA preferred.
2.5+ years experience in a business development or contract negotiations including a track-record of successful hunting and cold calling sales experience
3.Successful track record of consummating alliances
4.Strong executive presence and influencing skills
5.Excellent negotiation skills 6. Strong oral and written communication skills 7.
Proven ability to drive deals to closure 8. Excellent presentation skills 9. Overnight travel required. 10. Knowledge of legal industry desirable.
