The field-based sales position is responsible for driving new business revenue in an assigned territory by selling appropriate LexisNexis solutions to specific corporate departments who currently do not subscribe to LexisNexis.

Accountabilites

  • Meet or exceed monthly and yearlyrevenue objectives.

  • Develop strategic sales plans forprospects that include identifying new revenue growth opportunities in theassigned territory, developing creative demand generation strategies aimed atpositioning LexisNexis as the superior source in meeting the potential buyersinformation needs, managing all resources necessary to secure the business,(i.e. technical and product support, tactical marketing, pricing, etc.),forecasting revenue, developing key contacts and business relationships withinfluential individuals and high level decision makers, and identifyingcompetitive threats and developing effective countermeasures.

  • Sell the value of LexisNexis tocorporate professionals within an assigned territory by articulating how oursolutions meet their information needs. This will be accomplished through coldcalling to secure first appointments, advancing appointments, closing appointments,consulting sessions and group presentations.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding ofall LexisNexis business information solution products and competitive productsto articulate the benefits and advantages of LexisNexis products, and handlecustomer concerns or objections

  • Utilize all required processes, toolsand systems including TAOP and Siebel

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelorsdegree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 yearsproven business to business solution sales experience in new businessgeneration, preferably with complex products or solutions over the phone

  • Strongnew business prospecting skills including but not limited to cold calling,networking, negotiation and closing

  • In depthindustry knowledge and the ability to quickly develop an in depth understandingof LN products and services

  • Experienceworking as part of a team in a highly complex matrixed corporate environment

  • Understandingand expertise in computer hardware and software including Windows XP, Excel,Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and the Internet.

  • Executivelevel communication and presentation skills

  • Documentedhistory of sales overachievement

  • Deepunderstanding of Strategic Selling (TAOP, Miller Heiman, etc), Value selling,Team Selling, and CRM systems (Siebel is preferred)

  • Strongtime management, organizational and forecasting skills

  • Strongbusiness acumen to understand the impact of your decisions on the territoryperformance as measured by revenue, profit and customer measures.

  • Executivepresence to convince customers to purchase LN products and services.

  • Politicallysavvy to understand and manage the power relationships in the LN organizationand in other organizations/firms. Includes the ability to identify the realdecision makers and key influencers, and to predict how new events orsituations will affect individuals and groups within the organization.

Shuster, AST Bearings, and Global Sourcing are divisions of Motion. We currently are looking for a Business Development Manager in the San Francisco area to cover California, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating sales in a given territory by developing OEM, distribution, and end user business. The role requires time and territory management for maximizing effectiveness with customers, strategic planning for development of key accounts and industries in the territory, and generating quotes and orders for Shuster, AST, and Global Sourcing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Develops target OEM list focusing on key accounts and industries * Calls on target OEM accounts to win new profitable business for Motion Industries promoting sales of Shuster, AST and Global Sourcing products * Assists in developing and implementing annual sales forecast and expense budgets for the territory * Manages key customer relationships for OEM, distributor and consumer accounts * Identifies and develops implementation plans for target products, customers, markets, and geographies with a focus on: * Strategic advantages for Shuster participation in the market segment * Provides input on price, delivery and product performance requirements * Recommends sales tools and collateral to support development * Works with Motion Industries branches to identify new business opportunities leading to growth in revenue and profit, conducting product and industry training for all levels of employee * Schedules and makes joint sales calls with the Motion sales personnel * Promotes sales of private labeled products through the distribution and OEM channels * Works with Motion Industries Corporate Account Managers to provide profitable solutions at accounts where margins are low * Provides input for the development of new products, suppliers, and technologies, working with Engineering, Global Sourcing, AST, and other departments as necessary * Monitors customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to management team and Senior Management at Motion Industries * Works with customers with the support of Engineering to determine best-fit products and solutions to customer requirements * Assists Engineering to develop employee training on products and applications * Assists Engineering to develop customer training on products and applications * Coordinates with Engineering to obtain current costing and technical information on new designs, reverse engineered competitor samples and re-quotes of existing designs. * Communicates and coordinates with Global Sourcing and Engineering customer requirements for packing, labeling and any special documentation * Works on development of corporate image and overall brand strategy * Works on developing channel and geographic strategies EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree preferred * Minimum 3 years of sales management experience within the Bearing and Power Transmission business. * Good driving record * This position will travel 50% of the time NMMLOC GPC believes the fair and equitable treatment of employees, customers, suppliers and other persons is critical to fulfilling its vision and goals.
