The Connected Smart Solutions business unit is looking for a Business Development Manager (Senior/Staff level) for emerging opportunities in rapidly growing- Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger, Smart Appliance, and Industrial Automation. You will get an opportunity to exercise strong understanding of technical requirements coupled with a keen business acumen to identify key investment areas and drive EV Chargers/Smart Appliances of the future . You will collaborate with several other segments, engineering/business functions and create strategies that foster growth of the overall business unit. Responsibilities:

  • Carry out market analysis and identify new opportunities for silicon and services revenue

  • Identify and segment key customers and sustain growth at existing customers

  • Work in conjunction with product management and engineering to capture HW, SW and services requirements. Track industry trends.

  • Drive key ODM/OEM accounts & partners directly

  • Deliver segment financial objectives including revenue, profit & growth

  • Develop a comprehensive 5yr business strategy including investment plans to drive strong YoY growth

  • Monitor and manage near term financial performance in conjunction with finance team

  • Create segment specific presentations tailored to global sales teams, internal stakeholders, investment review boards, customers, and partners

  • Ideate concepts for new minimum viable product and develop silicon & software roadmap

  • Develop partner eco-system & new business models

  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams to promote solutions to media, analysts and other external marketing targets

  • Represent Qualcomm in industry forums & conferences

  • Work closely with Qualcomm regional sales teams to scale business globally and achieve revenue goals

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • The ability to be creative. This includes the ability to produce breakthrough ideas, being a visionary, managing innovation, seeing multiple futures, having broad interests and knowledge, and gaining support in order to translate new ideas into solutions

  • The ability to be organized, resourceful, and planful. This includes the ability to leverage multiple resources to get things done and lay out tasks in sufficient detail. This also includes the ability to get things done with fewer resources and in less time, work on multiple tasks at once without losing track, and foresee and plan around obstacles

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
  • 5+ years Product Management or related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
  • 10+ years Product Management or related work experience
  • 2+ years working with operating budgets and/or project financials
  • 2+ years negotiating 3rd party business agreements
  • 3+ years working in a large matrixed organization

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technology background and expertise in Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment, Smart Home Appliance and Industrial HMI Panel Controllers.

  • Strong Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Embedded Linux platforms is preferred.

  • Familiarity with EVSE Standards and EVSE ISO Certifications is a plus.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to build a network within the organization and ability to manage deadlines and priorities

  • Ability to manage, influence, and set direction of multi-faceted, multi-disciplined teams and programs independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to articulate vision and influence decision making and outcomes both within internal and with external teams through effective communication skills at all levels

  • Capable of synchronizing and motivating other program managers, product management and engineering leads to attain common goal

  • Strong evidence of entrepreneurial mind-set and new product development

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a multi-cultural environment with strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence

  • Creative problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile

  • Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs

  • Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting)

  • Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day

  • Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely

Pay range:

$173,000.00 - $260,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
