Apple Pay is seeking an experienced Business Development professional to join the Apple Pay team to develop partnerships and strategic alliances with external merchant and developer partners in the U.S. and other key regions. Partnerships will be focused on securing acceptance of Apple Pay features across multiple channels including merchants' physical POS systems and within their apps and websites.
The position involves leading the end to end business development execution including identification and screening of strategic partners, developing successful marketing programs, negotiating and closing commercial agreements.Demonstrated passion to ideate, create and deliver new, innovative customer experiences with merchants through the introduction of Apple Pay is a plus. The candidate will work closely and effectively with Apple Pay senior executives and business, product and engineering teams to jointly identify partnership strategies and launch programs that impact core business metrics.Candidates should have a proven track record of building and sustaining strong, successful relationships across traditional consumer verticals, consumer internet companies and emerging start ups. Applicable experience developing and scaling new business programs preferred.This is a full time position in Apple Pay and is located in our Cupertino, CA headquarters.
12+ years of professional experience with 8+ years in business or market development at multiple companies in the commerce and internet segments.8-10+ years experience working with national retailers within the payment industry.Direct experience structuring partnerships with national retailers, financial institutions, e-commerce and emerging consumer technology companies is desirable.Proven success in positions of leadership including recruiting, developing and cultivatingstrong business development teams.Deep experience negotiating business and technical terms across multiple internal andexternal stakeholders.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong workingrelationships inside and outside of Apple.Strong ability to influence without authority, sell concepts internally and actively drivestreamlined decision making across stakeholders.Self-starter who works effectively in a fast paced environment and is comfortable managingambiguity while delivering projects to completion with minimal guidance.Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze opportunities from many angles (bothquantitative and qualitative), and drives appropriate performance tracking and analysis.Expertise building business cases around market opportunities and partnerships - includingstrategy development, market segmentation, competitive analysis, and financial analysis.A deep understanding of product marketing, financial acumen, analytical rigor and a passionfor emerging mobile and web products.Energetic and collaborative team player who feeds off of goal setting and achievement.
B.A. /B.S. required, MBA preferred.
