VMware inside sales is based out of Austin, Texas with satellite sites in both Atlanta, Georgia and Reston, Virginia.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be tasked with managing a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) who deliver new pipeline to the Latin American and Canadian sales organizations by following up on inbound marketing responses and conducting outbound sales call campaigns. A typical day involves speaking with Field and Country Marketing Managers, Inside Sales Managers and Directors, other counterparts within the Americas Inside Marketing organization, and working with the BDRs for quality control and career growth purposes.
This role is responsible for delivering on a total amount of net-new sales opportunity pipeline across the previously mentioned geographies and for meeting all service level agreements regarding lead follow-up and pipeline quality. The successful applicant will have a mind for building repeatable long-term processes, will be passionate about developing the sales skills of his or her direct reports, will understand the driving forces behind both successful marketing and sales programs, and will be a tremendous team-player.
Additional responsibilities include:
Hiring and developing the future sales talent of VMware
Delivering bi-weekly feedback, coaching, and performance management to his or her direct reports
Public speaking in front of his or her direct reports, the larger Business Development Organization, or in front of sales leaders
Creating instructional content to deliver results required of stakeholder programs
Crafting specific operational processes to meet the demands of marketing and sales stakeholder programs
Conducting him- or herself in a manner consistent with the leadership role he or she holds
Shaping the future direction of the Business Development Organization
Bilingual in Spanish and English, with business-level proficiency required; additional fluency (moderate or greater) in Portuguese a plus
2+ years' experience in selling VMware products; experience across multiple account segments (Enterprise, Public, SMB) a plus
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
Familiar with computers and technology, specifically Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Outlook
Experience leading others towards a long-term goal
Self-motivated with a high attention to detail and ability to multitask
