Grow your career as a successful Business Development Manager- Host Support within ALG Vacations. In this role, you will be responsible for representing and selling Travel Impressions, Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, United Vacations, Southwest Vacations, Blue Sky Tours supporting the Host Region. You'll develop and enhance strong travel advisor relationships and mutually beneficial partnerships with the objective to grow incremental revenue and profitability.  You will take a consultative selling approach with travel advisors to identify new grow opportunities and share shift opportunities from our competition, leverage preferred relationships and execute engagement plans to grow incremental revenue. You will also support the Host Region with advisor relationships throughout the US, assist with event planning, training, social media and email communications and other projects to be determined.

A successful Business Development Manager- Host Support will:

  • Develop strategic alliances with 70-100 top travel advisors who are part of a Host Agency.

  • Leverage preferred relationships of ALGV in order to gain commitment, and incremental revenue growth with travel advisors.

  • Utilize a consultative sales approach to match the needs of the travel advisor with the product offering of ALGV.

  • Gain revenue commitments with travel advisors. Execute an engagement plan with travel advisor to realize committed revenue.

  • Utilize Salesforce to document sales activities.

  • Achieve sales targets by managing territory effectively and growing the accounts with the largest opportunities.

  • Be responsive to agent needs - questions, issue resolution, and follow up where necessary.

  • Possess good communication skills - verbally and written.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms - Provide admin support to assist Host Regional Team with frequent posts to our specific pages, and help provide timely response to agents on each page.

  • Provide admin support with major host event planning for the region. Ensure each event has a robust engagement plan and all details are communicated to the ALGV attendees in order to cultivate new business opportunities and gain new revenue commitments.

  • Strong understanding of the ALGV tools in order to position specific initiatives with travel advisors based on their needs, and wants, to grow their incremental business.

  • Ensure an understanding of, and promotion of, Marketing tools, product benefits, educational opportunities and ALGV events.

  • Attend ALGV Events as needed.

  • Use reporting tools to understand profitability, trends and goal tracking. Work closely with the analytic team to support the host BDM team with account specific reporting as related to growing the business.

  • Increase and promote distribution through VAX booking platform in line with established goals.

  • Monitor competitive activities in the marketplace and provide feedback in reporting and in meetings.

  • Coordinate virtual training plan and execute for Host Region.

A successful Business Development Manager- Host Support will have:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Travel industry knowledge or experience preferred, but will consider other candidates with transferable sales background.

  • Location: Home based - preferably Florida or East/Midwest areas.

  • Being able to travel up to 25% of the time. Travel by plane and car is required depending on the location of events.   Travel consists of attending Host training events domestically and international, meetings, trade shows, FAM trips, supplier functions, company meeting.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing or promoting products and services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for selling products and services including sales techniques and sales control systems. Ideally, consultative sales experience.

  • Ability to position ALGV as a solution to an advisor's needs, ultimately persuading advisor to commit to selling our products.

  • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

  • Ability to dissect reporting and take appropriate action to grow revenue. Good grasp of reading reports, understanding data. Knowledge of pivot tables a plus.

  • Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to write clearly, concisely.

  • Strong verbal skills: the ability to communicate clearly the benefits of our products with the how/why an advisor should work with us.

  • Strong listening skills: the ability to ask the right questions and hear what is important to an agency.

  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed.

  • Strong ability to focus in a home based environment. Room/area available in home dedicated to work space.
