JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and sales plans within the Sales & Marketing department including the support of all aspects of the sales process. The Business Development Manager will ensure commercial proposal terms and conditions and estimating practices are aligned with business strategies, increase sales by expanding customer footprints across the world, and maintain appropriate margins.

  • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve Company objectives; recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

  • Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.

  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.

  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.

  • Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote products and showcase new product(s) by managing the new concept development cycle.

  • Analyze RFPs from the customers and collect necessary input from various internal stakeholders to generate a business case and obtain approvals from the management group.

  • Monitor and analyze sales and marketing performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights.

  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.

  • Identify possible risks and opportunities associated with a product, including the need for process changes, or other interdisciplinary actions prior to submitting the proposal.

  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

  • Maintains a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to all state and federal regulations, Company policies, and procedures.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested.

  • Maintains and protects the confidentiality of the Company's information and products.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

  • A four-year college degree (Bachelor's degree) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the same or similar capacity.

Skills:

  • Business acumen, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, leadership, presentation skills, problem-solving/analysis, strategic thinking, financial and technical capacity
