The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing new business in strategic markets. The BDM will work very closely with marketing and sales to help implement a tactical marketing plan that would increase revenues and profits. This position is expected to uphold the mission, goals and overall core values established by the organization.
The BD Manager works with leadership to identify and pursue target strategic markets and clients and works to penetrate these markets in the Qualus Power Services space.
Oversee formation of new business partnerships and negotiation of contracts
Establishes and maintains productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers and prospect
Develop and execute lead generation
Collaborate with team to identify opportunities, plan and execute grown strategies
Performs market research and analysis.
Evaluates operational issues to determine how competitive and current the organization is with the latest trends in the industry.
Monitors external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
Develops marketing campaigns for new products and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
Assists in developing an evaluation process to gain feedback from clients
Expertise in business development, sales, or marketing within the DER/Microgrid or large-scale Renewable's market. Specific skills required:
Maintenance, testing, engineering, commissioning of electrical apparatus equipment including interconnecting substation, collector bus systems, grid connected inverters, micro-grid controllers, battery storage systems, COGEN/peak shaving generators, micro-turbines, wind turbines and solar apparatus/systems.
Understanding of engineering requirements including transmission planning, modelling, design, arc flash, short circuit, coordination, and load flow studies.
The ability to leverage all aspects of market channels including EPC, ESCO's, Utility Companies, Developers, Engineering Companies, End-Users, and Equipment Manufacturers.
Thorough understanding of utility deployed smart grid programs including in depth knowledge of IED's, reclosers, and software platforms associated with smart grid.
Strong background in business development with a working knowledge of power systems.
Experience understanding customer needs and business drivers and using this knowledge to develop account plans and strategies.
Strong leadership abilities, entrepreneurial spirit and strong sense of urgency.
Able to manage time and prioritize workload independent of direct supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively in and across teams; must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
