Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for creating and executing business development strategies to accomplish the organization's annual revenue goals. Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business and by building relationships. Develops professional sales skills and service knowledge to meet the company's standard.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes the organization's annual revenue goals by executing the business development strategy around sales and marketing.

  • Monitors sales and market trends within the Behavioral Healthcare market. Generates leads and Identifies new markets, new lines of business and new partnership opportunities.

  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating all contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

  • Assures the client's program utilization rates meet pricing model assumptions.

  • Develops skills and service knowledge to meet the company standard through knowledge of the company's strategic plan and service delivery system and standards, knowledge of the company's service features and benefits, knowledge of professional sales theory and application and knowledge of account implementation guidelines.

  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports through the CMS and has readily available for the CEO. Participates as a member of the implementation team.

  • Develops marketing materials, provides sales presentations and develops professional proposals that generate significant revenue.

  • Represents BHR at major trade shows.

  • Provides creative direction in the development of all brand marketing materials, which includes graphics design and layout for company brochures/direct mail pieces, PowerPoint presentations, videos, signage, website presence, etc.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

  • Manages the business development department's expenses efficiently and effectively as defined within budget guidelines. Notes variances.

Experience and Skill Required

  • BA/BS degree in business, marketing, economics or related field.

  • Minimum of three years business development, sales and/or marketing experience.

  • Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.

  • A commitment to excellent customer service.

  • Ability to create, develop and make formal presentations.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong negotiating skills along with success at developing new business.

  • Excellent time management skills, exceptional detail in follow-up and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Salesforce CMS a plus.
