Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc. is looking for a high performing Business Development Leader to join our team. In this position, you will represent multiple Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc. programs including Tow, Forestry, and Mile High Markets to independent insurance agents within an assigned territory. This position will be responsible for developing net revenue by establishing and fostering relationships with key agents, crafting and achieving sales production and expense management plans and objectives and demonstrating product and systems knowledge to develop and maintain profitable books of business for both Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc., and its affiliated carriers.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000 based on experience.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develops and executes revenue obtainment plans for the assigned territory.

  • Creative and effective agency management by executing new agency prospecting, appointment, and termination plans, and achieving appointment goals within the agreed upon timeframe.

  • Collaboratively drafts customized premium goals and sales plans with appointed independent agents in support of the territory objectives.

  • Establishes and manages agency specific submission metrics to assure production commitments are met.

  • Plans travel throughout the assigned territory optimizing agency contacts and minimizing T&E expenses.

  • Communicates regularly with agents to achieve production profit objectives.

  • Provides ongoing sales, product, and systems training to personnel with assigned agents.

  • Acts as a problem-solving liaison between the programs and assigned agents.

  • Maintains knowledge of all program products and systems.

  • Possesses marketplace knowledge, including knowing competition strengths and weaknesses, collects market intelligence and communicates regularly with internal teammates.

  • Assists with events/tradeshows, publications, and promotions within assigned territory.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and three to five years of experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Exceptional listener with time management, verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Understands the importance of and demonstrates a commitment to personal and professional growth and development.

  • Highly motivated and customer oriented.

  • High level of organizational ability and the capability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities.

  • Detail oriented and the ability to learn and follow processes.

  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of the inner workings of independent agents.

  • Demonstrated past sales success.

  • Knowledge of sales techniques, principles of sales, and sales terminology.

  • Routine or periodic travel which may require the employee to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.

  • Valid driver's license and possess an acceptable motor vehicle record at the time of hire and periodically thereafter.

  • Maintain the minimum acceptable insurance coverages and limits as defined by Arrowhead/Brown & Brown.

  • Property and Casualty Insurance License preferred.
