Role Summary The Business Development (BD) Lead is responsible for driving the revenue growth of the organization by identifying, developing, and responding to new business opportunities. This role owns and oversees the JMC business development process and supports the pursuit of new business and expansion/renewal opportunities using the JMC approved collaborative and consultative approach to meet new and existing client needs.

The focus for this position is on strengthening and documenting the BD process, searching for new business opportunities, and managing the proposal development and response process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Understand and implement JMC's business development strategy in pursuit of new growth opportunities.

Review BD opportunities and refine automated search routines. Review, document, and look to improve the JMC BD process. Direct and manage the process for JMC to add new contracting mechanisms.

Establish and cultivate relationships with new clients and key stakeholders, including Public Health agencies, government jurisdictions, and for-profit organizations. Leverage relationships with existing partners to ensure customer satisfaction and drive add on business. Manage and maintain company CRM system (Monday) to organize leads and track potential projects.

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the organization's products and services. Collaborate with the Innovation team members including the Marketing Specialist to update and promote service lines. Interact and collaborate with the Service Delivery Team to evaluate opportunities and resources.

Report progress to the Vice President of Innovation and keep all relevant parties updated. Manage and monitor Request for Proposal (RFP) efforts within the company ensuring timeliness and quality of submitted proposals. Train staff on the JMC proposal management process to support Business Development efforts as needed.

Oversee registration and renewal of Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) and other applicable preferred vendor lists. Monitor industry trends and competitive activities to identify opportunities for the organization and to provide strategic marketing and growth opportunities. Participate in industry events and conferences to build relationships and explore new business opportunities.

Ensure a seamless transition from the new business process to delivery team. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required minimum of Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Five (5) years or more in offering health informatics business solutions and consulting services and/or proven relevant experience specifically with public health informatics space and/or with state and federal government contracting.

Prior working experience in collaborative and consultative sales, marketing or business development. Prior working experience writing proposals Course work and/or experience with technical writing is a plus. Ability to own the BD and proposal process.

Prior experience using CRM or Business Development tools for pipeline and opportunity tracking desired. Ability to maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, vendors, and other interested parties (stakeholders). Ability to think critically, possess strong decision-making abilities, and work independently or as part of a team. Practical communication skills, including public speaking, presentation and writing skills are a must.
