Job Summary

The Business Development Senior Director (Air Force) initiates and conducts research and analysis of the Air Force market and develops and qualifies a coherent and achievable pipeline of business opportunities consistent with organization's long range and strategic plans. Conducts customer engagements and capture/ pursuit tasks required to achieve the annual bookings plan for the assigned Business Area/ Customer Focus Area.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Responsible for building company presence as a global provider and effectively leading the marketing of the capabilities resulting to achieve and/or exceed the business plan and objectives

  • Serve as focal point for future domestic and international customers by representing the company's business development growth within the market

  • Lead the formulation, implementation, and comprehensive support to business areas, including enterprise initiatives, marketing efforts, trade show messaging and branding initiatives.

  • Establish relationships with and lead purposeful engagements with current and potential customers

  • Assess future growth opportunities aligned with the strategic growth direction. Provide recommendations on how to support customers in the targeted markets

  • Work across multiple functions and business areas and will lead the development and presentation of growth strategies and opportunities, both international and domestic

  • Lead the market assessments, develop new opportunities and advocates for new business resources, and coordinate win efforts

  • Lead assessment of new business opportunities including supply, maintenance, transportation, engineering, and base operations/maintenance support and adjacent markets

  • Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and financial goals

  • Participate on opportunity specific win strategy reviews step reviews

  • Position will be assigned to specific targeted business area/customer relationship and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned.

  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated networking capabilities among various communities, e.g. acquisition officials/leads in the Department of Defense and other government agencies for identifying and developing potential business opportunities.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of associate contractors and the competitive landscape.

  • Basic understanding of service contracts and business development including workload analysis, cost and pricing principals, unique workforce requirements, contracting terminology, and management principles.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

  • Ability to write speeches, articles, advocacy papers, responses to Government Requests for Information, advertising scripts, and publication and tradeshow graphics.

  • Ability to integrate regulatory, customer, legislative and market information into effective business strategies and plans.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with senior managers, employees, and the general public.

  • Strong leadership and oral communication skills with an ability to coach, lead, motivate and influence others to support corporate goals and objectives.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain US passport.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Sciences, Engineering, Military/Strategic Studies, Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or International Affairs

  • Master's degree in Business Administration ore field related to the job is desirable

  • Prior senior-level USAF service with specific experience in aviation operations and sustainment is highly desired. Strong technical expertise in any of the following areas: flight operations, aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), aviation maintenance services, contractor logistics support (CLS) is a plus.

  • Proven record of successfully growing a business with expanded customers and markets domestically and/or internationally or successful command of USAF aviation operations or sustainment activities.

  • Fifteen (15) plus years in business development, program management or strategic planning.

  • Six (6) plus years of experience developing assigned business

  • Experience building/ managing customer relationships seeking out and identifying new business opportunities.

  • Exposure to MAJCOM, COCOM, and Pentagon staffs including budgeting, legislative liaison, and requirements processes are beneficial

  • Exposure to high-performing organizations such as SAASS, USAF Weapons School, AMMOS, US Test Pilot School, SECAF/CSAF Executive Action Group, USAF Legislative Liaison, etc. are beneficial

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions

  • Must be able to work extended hours, often with short notice, to meet deadlines. Extended hours may include late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays

  • Demonstrate ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with attention to detail

Bell is seeking an Aviation Technician to be part of the On-Site Quick Response Team (OSQRT), supporting maintenance operations for the CV-22 aircraft at RAF Mildenhall, Bury Saint Edmunds, UK. This position involves maintenance on US Air Force CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. Work is primarily focused on major installations and repairs. Additionally, there is a focus on damage inspection/evaluation, repair materials/parts logistics, and functional testing. Position Responsibilities: * Perform maintenance tasks to assist organizational-level maintenance with a specific focus on returning Long Term Down Aircraft to flight ready status. * Provide depot maintenance services at the aircraft operating sites when the aircraft are not required for flight operations to reduce the time aircraft are required to be down for maintenance. * Complete maintenance tasks within On-Condition Maintenance (OCM) guidelines as well as other identified depot field team work specifications. * Provide support for larger maintenance tasks, in which organizational-level maintenance participates. * Perform maintenance tasks on aircraft structures and systems. * Evaluate damage and perform composite repairs, electrical and mechanical repairs and installations. * Ensure work performed meets Bell's expectations for the highest levels of safety and quality. * Maintain a relationship with the military/government customer. Work alongside Air Force maintainers when required. Educational Requirements: * Two years of technical college/trade school or extensive military or industry training is preferred. Position Requirements: * Minimum of four years of hands-on experience working on military and/or commercial aircraft, performing maintenance, is required. * This position will require travel to other sites in support of helicopter operations. * Rotary Wing maintenance experience on medium/heavy helicopters is preferred. Experience in military occupation specialties (MOS) 6116 Tiltrotor Mechanic, 2A5X2 Helicopter Maintenance, 6156 Tiltrotor Airframe Mechanic, 2A7X2 Aircraft Structural Maintenance or 6326 Aircraft Communications/Navigation/Electrical/Systems Technician is highly preferred. * Ability to work with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and Temporary Engineering Instructions (TEI). * Must have the ability to evaluate damage and perform applicable repair. * Aircraft structures and composite repair experience is required. Must have the ability to fabricate parts as required. FAA A&P certification is preferred. Other relevant extensive aircraft maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of structural repair experience, but competence in structural repairs must be obtained with in first year of employment. * Must be able to perform operations/functional checks and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems. * Experience with naval aviation maintenance policies, procedure, documentation procedures is required. * Active US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance is preferred. * Candidate must possess the ability to work in a team environment and must possess good communications and information technology skills.
