CBRE Heery seeks aBusiness Development Manager for our New York market. The position will bebased in our downtown New York, NY office.
The Business DevelopmentManager will work to improve the organization's market position and achievefinancial growth. This person supports defining long-term organizationalstrategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies businessopportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensiveknowledge of current market conditions. It is their responsibility to collaborate with the internal operations team, marketingstaff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximizerevenue for their organization.
The BusinessDevelopment Manager will also help manage existing clients and ensure they staysatisfied and positive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Direct sell clients through meetings pitches and identifyneeds.
Drives the clientrelationship and business development activities of the company across the geography
Prospect for potentialnew clients and turn this into increased business.
Cold call as appropriatewithin market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline ofopportunities.
Meet potential clientsby growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
Identify potentialclients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
Research and buildrelationships with new clients.
Set up meetings betweenclient decision makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.
Plan and prepare teamsfor prospecting and shortlist approaches and pitches.
Work with team todevelop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
Participate in pricingthe solution/service.
Handle objections byclarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to apositive conclusion.
Oversees the creation ofa wide variety of customized, professional-quality marketing materials for newpursuits (most commonly written proposals, RFP responses, and graphicalpresentations)
Develops strong workingrelationships with subject matter experts throughout the organization at thefunctional and account management levels.
Coordinates and assignstasks to co-workers and other subject matter experts involved in n opportunity pursuit .
Recommends staffrecruitment and selection.
Mentors and coaches teammembers to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviorsthat are consistent with the company's values.
Architecture/Engineering/Construction and/or Construction Managementindustry.
Experience with solutionsellin,long sales cycles and closing opportunities.
Experience withcanvassing, cold calling and networking to meet goals within a territory.
Excellent written andverbal communication skills.
Strong organizationaland analytical skills.
Ability to prepareanalytics and reports in a pre-designed style and format.
Ability to effectivelyand efficiently respond to inquiries from clients, co-workers, supervisor,and/or management.
Ability to effectivelypresent information
Ability to solveadvanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills.
Technically savvy withsolid experience in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Outlook.Advanced Excel skills preferred.
Experience working with anddeciphering multiple types of RFP models preferred.
Experience working withcompany procedures, policies and business practices to achieve general resultsand deadlines.
Ability to set work unitand/or project deadlines.
Experience withattending industry functions, such as association events and conferences, andprovide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
Bachelor's Degree isrequired. Preference given to technicaldegrees such as architecture, engineering, construction and projectmanagement.
Masters Degree is aplus.
