The Technology & Business Development position is a target-driven role focused on building and executing a strategic plan for growth in close collaboration with key cloud solution providers, networks, managed services organizations and IT/systems integrators. The position involves face-to-face executive-level solution-building, negotiation and execution of commercial partnership agreements, thought leadership development and a deep knowledge of relevant technology trends including hybrid cloud networking, hyperconverged infrastructure, edge computing, SDN and others.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of both technical and business skills to identify unique opportunities for strategic growth. This candidate must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to influence others. S/he will also possess the skillset to successfully implement partner programs and activities while demonstrating experience in adjusting priorities while responding to multiple demands within a dynamic environment. The Technology and Business Development Director will have a high degree of visibility and must possess a strong executive presence. S/he must collaborate across a large stakeholder community with the ability to influence results in a complex organization. S/he will gather and assess information quickly and provide timely operational reporting while turning detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight. This role requires both independent and team activities in order to effectively meet established goals. The candidate should be organized and adept at managing multiple projects concurrently and possesses exceptional collaboration skills. S/he must also leverage analytics to determine, measure, and communicate program effectiveness while adapting as needed to ensure success.
The candidate will play a central role of defining and driving technology partnership model with select providers to enable revenue growth in Digital Realty Services specifically around hybrid IT and cloud-based managed services.
Define solution bundles and reference architectures that showcase specific use cases or partner integrations to enable our core customers
Interface with cross-functional product, marketing and sales teams to define the solution enablement strategy and deliver go-to-market initiatives and ensure ROI on key initiatives and deployments
Provide management with analytics and metrics-based reporting on progress of services and potential ecosystem development
Create positioning, messaging and go-to-market strategies, web content, whitepapers, case studies and technical documentation
Strong core project management skills (scheduling, issue identification/resolution, risk mitigation, dependency management)
Communicate effectively to ensure appropriate level of awareness across the organization
Experience with key technology players in the cloud, network, managed services (MSP) and systems integrator (SI) market segments. Established relationships within those market segments is highly preferred.
Experience with IT infrastructure, networking technologies and established cloud services.
Understanding of the RESTful API framework.
10+ years of cloud business development, marketing, strategic partnerships and/or product management experience with proven experience driving new platforms and IT ecosystems
Candidate will leverage analytics to determine, measure, document and communicate program effectiveness while adapting as needed to ensure success.
Ability to prepare and contribute to business reviews and plans for the senior management team.
Excellent written and verbal cross-functional communication, collaboration, negotiation and leadership skills.
Must be a self-starter with strong initiative to engage complex problems and create actionable solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with and ability to work in a self-directed environment
Organization and prioritization skills; ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
