JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Business Development Associate plays a pivotal role in bringing our mission to life through innovative and impactful business development activities. This position is responsible for developing business opportunities, and maintaining associated relationships, positively effecting VOA program referrals; and supporting the desired utilization of VOA's continuum of care through effective communication and marketing efforts. In addition, the Business Development Associate will work to enhance the organization's brand and promote the outcomes of our diverse programs across Montana, Wyoming, and Western South Dakota. This role demands a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, effective communication, and sales experience to impact positive partnerships that support and expand referral sources to VOA programs.
Essential Functions
Support all aspects of integrated business development operations including partnership development, relationship maintenance and strategic planning.
Develop, maintain, and act as a liaison to referral sources for VOA programs.
Build and maintain partnerships effecting positive client referrals across all programs.
Collaborate with program leadership, team members, and stakeholders to develop customized referral procurement strategies.
Collaborate with Senior Director of Communications to develop and employ the messaging, collateral, and sales tools necessary to market VOA programs effectively and efficiently.
Incorporate feedback from internal and external stakeholders into business development efforts.
Ensure partners and stakeholders are aware of organizational outcomes, opportunities, policies, and activities.
Address internal and external partnership needs through active and productive working relationships in the interest of access to behavioral and mental health client care.
Proactively communicate successes or issues with VP of Business Development or appropriate program leadership.
Provide timely reports on program capacity and referral source contract utilization.
Attend industry meetings, trade shows, and other marketing events to drive referrals and cultivate relationships.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach and mentor for other organization positions.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers, and smartphones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience, or Eligibility Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in sales, communication, or a related field.
Three years of related experience.
Expertise and strong competence in the application of marketing and communication principles.
Must be motivated, innovative, and comfortable working in collaboration; have ethical decision-making and excellent interactive skills; must be goal-oriented, have high energy, and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's degree in a related field (i.e. MBA)
Five or more years of related experience
Knowledge or experience in business/partnership development, sales, marketing, or related field.
Knowledge of the behavioral health marketplace and referral sources in Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota.
