  • Position Overview

The Business Development Associate (BDA) will successfully contribute to pipeline and revenue growth by transforming identified contacts into qualified leads. Whether its finding prospective customers, creating sales strategies or building influential partnerships, youre committed to doing what it takes to live out MxDs mission to increase manufacturing competitiveness in the United States.

The BDA will own the end-to-end recruitment of Tier 3 Prospects: Small-to-Medium Sized Businesses, Academic Institutions, Channel Partners and Non-Profit Organizations. With support from the Director of Business Development, the BDA will be responsible for making links between prospect interests and Institute opportunities to expand and deepen the value of the Institutes ecosystem.

Additionally, the BDA will be responsible for the management, administration and maintenance of MxDs Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, including training existing and new employees on CRM functionality, and handling all CRM issues through resolution.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of MxDs Tier 3 industry recruitment to include: strategy, sales processes, systems and metrics, including expansion and management of MxDs CRM system.

  • Conduct lead generation, prospecting, and qualifying leads.

  • Utilize business acumen to research companies, C-Level executives, business trends, competitive intelligence to create detailed research based strategic communication plans.

  • Proactively schedule calls with prospective clients via phone and email (including cold calling).

  • Educate prospective clients on the value of MxDs ecosystem and partnership opportunities

  • Partner with the Director of Business Development in supporting monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.

  • Coordinate internal staff to ensure the right individuals are present to support a prospective client on the issue/challenge to be discussed during the sales pitch call and/or sales presentation.

  • Develop, refine and deploy an effective system for evaluation and prioritization of target prospects, working with management on strategic priorities.

  • Lead the creation and deployment of all communication and materials for potential prospects.

  • Support the Director of Business Development with Tier 1/2 industry recruitment efforts

  • Strategy, Metrics, Presentations, Factory Floor Tours, Conferences

  • Partner with cross functional teams on messaging and ad hoc requests.

  • Less than 10% travel.

  • Position Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of one year of experience in sales, fundraising, recruiting or entrepreneurial efforts in school, internship or professional work

  • Previous experience as a HubSpot Admin or subject matter expert

  • Self-starter and able to work in both complex and ambiguous situations

  • Expert computer and internet search skills

  • Advanced communication, presentation, writing, problem-solving, and time management skills

  • Ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining organization and control

  • Track record of outstanding performance in education, activities and previous work experiences

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Title: Business Development Associate (BDA) Reports Into: Director, Customer & Business Development Job Description: The Business Development Associate role is responsible for selling Information Management (Records Storage & Secure Destruction) bundles to Mid-Market prospects mostly through phone activity through prospecting, networking, cold calling and executing on account plans and marketing initiatives to increase Iron Mountain footprint within the territory resulting in revenue growth and quota attainment. + Assesses customer's needs, determining appropriate Iron Mountain products and solutions. Develops and implements strategies and business plans through understanding the clients business model, planning and decision making channels from understanding the customer's value proposition and ability to explain how they differentiate themselves in the marketplace. + Builds customer relationships through strategic conversations to understand organizational business objectives and goals. Understands and influences a wide range of customer stakeholders (including Iron Mountain channel partners) while acting as industry expert to the customer. + Continuously prospects to develop net new clients and maintains a consistent 'pipeline' that enables meeting and exceeding quota attainment. Activities to support pipeline and account activity include, tracking activity in Salesforce.com, forecasting, conducting competitive research and knowledge of IRM product offerings. + Active within industry associations in the market to increase IM awareness, through attending tradeshows, reviewing whitepapers and keep current within market trends. Maintains a deep knowledge of customer's business trends, current macro and micro economic climate, and potential new business opportunities + Responsible for final account sales and revenue growth through leading negotiation process and ensuring an acceptable on time outcome from a solution proposal, pricing, profitability, liability, and SLA perspective for accounts to meet and exceed quota attainment. + BDA will be trained and prepared for the ultimate goal of transitioning to an outside sales, Mid-Market BDE at the end of 12 months.
