Scope

Brightway Insurance's dynamic Business Development Associate program is designed to cultivate entry level business professionals into future industry leaders. Through comprehensive training and mentorship in product knowledge, sales techniques, and business operations, you'll gain the skills needed to excel. Led by our experienced Leadership Team, you'll have the opportunity to choose from career paths upon completion: including client service, agency support, independent agency ownership, or agency development.

Tailored to your progression and interests, the program offers a phased approach with specific milestones and support structures, ensuring your success in this stable yet dynamic industry. Embark on a journey from onboarding and education to hands-on experience and ultimately, ownership of a thriving business, all within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. Job Responsibilities

  • Learn about our business model and successful business operation processes

  • Prospect warm leads on Brightways current book of business

  • Develop new carrier leads through prospecting and lead development

  • Maintain a book of business, focusing on territory development and relationship retention.

  • Proactively makes outbound calls or send emails to prospects to sell companys features and benefits

  • Under general supervision, focus on sales, leads, retention, customer service and community of Brightway with our carriers

  • Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, utilizing calendars and checklists

  • Maintain regular communication through email and other systems

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and sales development

  • Document activities and follow-up accurately

  • Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure streamlined operations.

Program Graduation Career Paths:

  • Work in a Brightway Agency supporting our agents and customers.

  • Work in a existing Brightway Agency developing your own book of business.

Skills, Licenses, Certifications

  • Ability to obtain P&C licensure within 3 months.

  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail

  • Superior customer service mindset: a desire and ability to deliver service that provides a high level of satisfaction

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Superior interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator; must be able to convey ideas in a clear and concise manner

  • Excellent independent judgment and decision making

  • Ability to learn, embrace and put into practice new concepts and skills

Education and Experience

This position requires a bachelors degree and 0-3 years experience in a customer service or sales environment. Education or experience focused in insurance, risk management or entrepreneurship is preferred, but not required.

Essential Job functions

The ability to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation; ability to communicate orally with others, reading, writing, walking, speaking, hearing, regular use of the telephone and e-mail for company communication is essential, extended periods viewing computer screen, repetitive motion, sitting for extended periods is common, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching/grasping, lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds various items, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems within your department; able to perform basic mathematics; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques.
