The main responsibilities of this role are to organize, plan, and manage business development, sales and customer relationship efforts in the region to exceed business objectives. This position will also be responsible for facilitating new business opportunities for Rotary and Mission Systems product lines in a defined region or territory.
Knowledge of the proposal process, pricing systems and rates, elements of cost and how they are estimated, are required for a successful candidate. The candidate must be able to explain proposals and related issues to management and rapidly obtain answers to customer questions and issues. The position will also require a broad interface with multiple company disciplines including business development, International BD and Program Management, Customer Support, Operations, Legal, ITC, etc.
As a key member of the RMS International Business, Middle East and Africa Business Development team, this role will be responsible for:
Developing sales leads, establishing win plans, and leading or co-lead Business Acquisition Teams to capture opportunities. This includes the marketing, promotion and selling of all related products and services.
Contributing to the development and execution of country and/or regional strategies for assigned territories. This includes developing a funnel of opportunities, projected sales and revenues, and growth strategies to maximize market share.
Supporting the RMS program management teams by working with customers to develop pursuits, help resolve in country execution challenges, and refine aftermarket requirements.
Create and conduct Executive Management reviews to gain alignment and approval for sales and strategic targets.
Regularly interface with appropriate stakeholders and align all pursuits and strategies with management. Be cognizant of all pursuits and ensure they are carried out with an overall eye on maintaining and building positive customer relationships.
Build strong relationships with U.S. Embassies, customers, and in-country Lockheed Martin representatives across the corporation.
Assisting the Capture Manager, and in such a role serving as the primary channel of communication between the customer and within the company and the capture team for specific sales pursuits
Ensuring cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned pursuits are executable by closely coordinating with Programs, Engineering and the Business Office.
Being cognizant of localization requirements and help the localization team identify potential programs when required.
Identifying strategic partnering opportunities and engage in discussions/negotiations with potential partners per the process.
Foreign Assignment: This position will offer a long-term deployment to a foreign country (Saudi Arabia)
Demonstrated success in working in a matrixed, team environment Ability to establish strong collaboration with all different functions and departments across Lockheed Martin.
Reporting on new opportunities as well as briefing current pursuits will be a regimented requirement.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for use at all levels of the organization such as employees, management and customer. Must also possess excellent negotiation and stakeholder influence skills.
Expect to travel internationally (approximately 60%) in support of contract development and negotiation.
Experience negotiating contracts a plus Possess technical and/or maintenance knowledge of radars, ships and helicopters is a plus
