OpenInvest is seeking an analyst to support its business development team, which develops high-alignment partnerships so that major financial institutions can take advantage of OpenInvest's unique technologies and offerings.

Salary: $70-$85k, .08-.1% equity

Location: OpenInvest is currently operating fully remotely for public health reasons but based in downtown San Francisco


  • 2-3 years of work experience in business development, business operations, consulting, or account management, preferably in the finance industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Financial acumen, good with numbers.


  • Research, including assessing market trends and dynamics, identifying and qualifying targets, pre-meeting company deep-dives, and corporate strategy.

  • Planning and preparing presentations.

  • Business development (BD) Engagement:

  • Joining presentations and other partner meetings. Taking notes and developing detailed action plans.

  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings.

  • Engaging internal and external team members to execute on those action plans with precision - from sales process through to implementation and syndication.

  • Collaborate with the Product team to provide high-quality client/prospect feedback for product/feature/prototype development.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on BD sales collateral.

  • Track and manage BD progress using Salesforce and Trello. Produce original reporting and analytics.

You'll be a thought leader and skilled practitioner, focused on helping our clients transform their organizations through product portfolio, innovation and design, product optimization, category management, and supplier collaboration. In this client-facing role, you'll play a key part in driving process improvement, delivering successful business results, and developing broad based strategies for a diverse set of clients. Examples of the type of work associated with this role could include driving product optimization through Analytics-to-value/ Design-to-value, driving strategic sourcing to capture value,defining new operating model by optimizing Source-to-Pay processes through digitally-enabled procurement transformation programs, designing new organizational structure and reporting relationships, developing future-focused capabilities and mindsets, and/or instituting rigorous governance and performance-management methods. You will make a meaningful, hands-on contribution by gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations to present to clients. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.
