This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA)

OVERVIEW:

Glenmede Investment Management is seeking a motivated individual with proven organizational and analytical skills to support the external sales team in prospecting efficiency, sales targeting and investment strategy analysis. Responsibilities will include territory analysis, investment strategy competitive analysis and product positioning. The analysis will assist the sales team in acquiring, developing, and maintaining relationships with financial advisors, institutional investors and investment consultants. The Business Development Associate should be a self-starter who is comfortable managing complex and evolving situations. A background in investment manager research, data analysis and portfolio construction are ideal. The Business Development Associate will be a team player, resourceful, and selfless in the execution of all tasks. Primary responsibilities are arming the Business Development Officers with information to assist in developing new business and maintaining existing relationships with investors across our suite of investment strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Business Development Officers:

  • Provide data and analysis to support Business Development Officers to efficiently attain sales, growth, and revenue goals.
  • Jointly develop and execute sales plan strategies across sales teams.
  • Identify sales opportunities and client needs, advance relationships and introduce new concepts.
  • Assist in the creation and management of the territory plans.
  • Handle daily territory management tasks to ensure maximum business efficiency, e.g. update and maintain CRM, identify opportunities and searches.
  • Organize and implement regular portfolio manager updates, conference calls and newsletters.

Maintaining Existing Relationships:

  • Mediate and resolve escalated client service issues when necessary.
  • Ability to converse knowledgeably with clients and other key personnel about investment solutions and current economic and market conditions.

Firm Building:

  • Work with various departments/individuals within the organization to provide exceptional service to our clients and prospects.
  • Perform other product and sales support duties as required by position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three to five years of industry experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SIE exam and Series 7 and 63 licensed strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with Morningstar, eVestment and Factset databases preferred.
  • Experience in investment manager research, product positioning and investment strategy competitive analysis strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Knowledge of CRM and sales reporting packages. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Understanding of financial/capital markets, mutual funds, group and individual retirement plan products, separately managed accounts, alternative investment and other investment vehicles.
  • Strong work ethic, high integrity detail oriented, and strong values.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional verbal and writing skills.
  • Problem solving abilities; includes the appropriate people in the decision-making process.
