The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an accomplished Business Development professional for the Aerospace market.

This position focuses on building on our Aerospace market position by locating, developing, and defining business opportunities, as well as assisting in negotiating and closing business deals in a team atmosphere. The individual's time is primarily spent:

  • developing and executing a strategy to grow our portfolio in the Aerospace market in both private and public sectors, domestic and international markets
  • building trusted relationships with clients and other business partners
  • leading development of proposals and other marketing materials to support strategic initiatives and relationships


  • Organizes, plans, schedules, and manages sales efforts with general guidance

  • Leads and oversees research in support of Aerospace market

  • Maintains a robust network of business, industry, government, municipal, and community contacts to keep abreast of industry, client, and competitor activity and begins to develop a strong pipeline of new clients and projects through direct or indirect client contact and prospecting

  • Locates and screens potential business opportunities by contacting potential partners, discovering, and exploring opportunities, analyzing market strategies and potential, and evaluating options

  • Takes a lead role in facilitating internal go/no go decisions and leads proposal activities

  • Identifies industry trends, emerging technologies, governmental regulation changes and/or issues related to A/E/C; shares relevant findings with leadership on a regular basis; and offers analysis/recommendations

  • Plans and oversees conference and sponsorship participation for the Aerospace market, per the annual Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Practice marketing budget

  • Active participation in aerospace client-related professional organizations with leadership roles, as appropriate

  • Advises Client Managers, Project Mangers, Leadership and other staff on business development-related issues and topics

  • Requires a travel and time out of the office for meetings, conferences,

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Highly organized and able to prioritize work efforts to meet deadlines

  • Resourceful and a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative to maximize available resources and opportunities

  • Team player with a strong work ethic and desire to make a long-term, professional commitment to the company and its continued growth


  • Comprehensive knowledge of the AEC Industry required

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the private and public sector Aerospace market preferred, with emphasis on domestic and international clients

  • Strong business management and organizational skills

  • Solves problems quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Assists in preparing presentations for Program leadership, senior management, or RS&H BoardProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) to complete assigned tasks

  • Oversees and actively tracks opportunities and client meetings in CRM and Deltek Vision


  • Actively leads initiatives and provides input/guidance to others


  • Possesses excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Successfully builds relationships and collaborates with diverse audiences; develops and maintains a strong business network

  • Spends most of the time outside the office making contacts

  • Maintains strict confidentiality on matters related to business development of potential clients and opportunities as well as all company-sensitive information

  • Ability to interacts with multiple levels of team members inside and outside the firm

  • Follows through on tasks in a consistent and persistent manner

  • Serves as a trusted company ambassador while operating in compliance with the company's adopted "Statement of Business Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy"


  • Requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business, management, or Aerospace industry-related field. Master's degree recommended.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of prior work experience within the field. A/E/C experience preferred.

  • International Trafficking in Arms (ITAR) compliance training required once employed

  • Participation in continuing education required

  • Although international travel is minimal, a US Passport is required


  • Active membership in Aerospace organizations, including participation in developing professional papers or presentations and taking on leadership roles
