JOB SUMMARY AND RESONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the NPD Business Manager, this position will provide direct supervision to the Account Clerk personnel in the responsibilities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll and benefits functions. This position oversees the Department's grant financial reporting and auditing system, compiles report and analysis of expenditures and coordinates the department's FMLA compensations system. This position is also responsible for keeping informed on labor laws and recommends procedures for maintaining compliance and is the liaison to the City Payroll Department and facilitates Police Department related contract implementations and continuation of benefits. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, is part of the UFPO Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 13, with an annual salary of $66,466.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or combined aggregate of related training, experience and education

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Must have a working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, Workers Compensation, USERRA, HIPAA and NHRS regulations

  • Ability to gain knowledge of the operations and functions of the Financial Services Division

  • Working knowledge of the departmental rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, bureau directives, written policies, union contracts as they relate to the duties and responsibilities of the position

  • Working knowledge of department's budget and line-item appropriations

  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form

  • Knowledge of: Personal computers, Intuit QuickBooks, Microsoft Windows, MS Office Suite (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) printers, fax machine, copy machines, telephones and standard office equipment and Internet research skills

  • Must be of good moral character
