About the Role

Essity Professional Hygiene (PH) North America is looking for a Business Controller Analyst; this position will be based out of our regional headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. The Business Controller/Sr. Financial Analyst will take a lead role with the financial processes for the PH North America (NA) business in terms of business partnering with the sales directors and managers of the sales section of the business. He/she will be responsible of supporting with business insights, strategy development and results follow up of the assigned sales teams.

This role focuses on the financial performance of several sales teams within the PH NA business and works in close collaboration with other members of PH NA Finance teams to ensure that regional, distributor and customer performance results, as well as budgets, forecasts and outlooks are accurately and effectively presented and explained.

What Will You Do

  • Support sales directors with regional strategic process and customers development strategies, working together with commercial excellence team

  • Function as business partner to several sales directors with timely insights and strategy development to assess and monitor business performance

  • Support the controlling director in the development of presentations with respect to the sales performance, customer understanding and forecasting

  • Collaborate closely with planning and reporting controller and with national accounts controller to ensure harmonized approach to business analysis across the team

  • Timely, complete & accurate monthly financial sales reporting

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for sales senior management review and discussion

  • Ensure that the financial and business acumen level is on an adequate level among the sales team by leading regular financial training sessions

  • Monitoring and follow-up the PH NA regional sales performance and deviations/variances to plan including but not limited to volume/price/mix analysis

  • Insightful analysis of key financial performance trends and operating ratios

  • Support in the financial planning and analysis system, by providing insights of regional sales and customers performance

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, professional certifications (e.g. CMA or CPA) preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience business controlling and financial analysis (financial planning experience preferred)

  • Excellent analytical, issue & trend identification, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, Power BI skills preferred

  • Proven experience with financial information, reporting and planning systems

  • Understanding of financial reporting

  • Understanding of accounting standards (IFRS)

  • ABS/AARO, SAP, BW/BI experience is a plus

  • Good working knowledge/understanding of manufacturing organization

  • Hands-on experience with budget preparation techniques

  • Effective elaboration (explanation and narrative) of financial performance results

  • Solid, effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Effective presentation skills including development of presentation packets

  • Ability to travel 10% of time to domestic locations

As a Assistant Business Controller, your role will involve providing reliable and timely evaluation of the Group's financial results, budget and forecasts to aid ABB Group management and other stakeholders in decision-making processes. Reporting into the HUB Controllership organization, you will be responsible for ensuring financial objectives are met through management of cost accounting processes and controls, monitoring performance against business targets, coaching management, decision making, balanced risk taking and making recommendations for actions to align the business with the HUB strategies. Directs and controls financial reporting quality and accuracy, ensuring that the practices of the business comply with group/company policies, external rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. Position will be physically located in Warminster, PA. Ideal talent will be local to the area, however ABB is willing to provide relocation for the right person. Your responsibilities * Strategy: Contribute to the business strategy of the local business unit by identifying areas of improvement and doing SWOT analysis such as competitor and marketing information. * Performing financial analysis and providing recommendations on investment opportunities, both organic and inorganic in nature; including ensuring that all cost and investment requirements are clearly outlined & understood. * Monitor and ensure the implementation of strategies and guidelines of HUB and divisional strategies. * Ensure compliance with corporate & country standards and guidelines. * Controlling, Risk Management and Business Ethics: Responsible for maintaining complete accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow). Aligns performance with strategies and targets agreed with the respective Local Business Unit (LBU), HUB, PG. * Responsible for collaboration with management team to establish cost accounting processes to support the business requirements. Support effective and efficient reporting and analysis for local business, as well as LBU, Hub and corporate financial reporting guidelines. * Ensure continuous improvement in the financial control and processes.
