Job Description:

  • Lead Credit Strategies Execution function providing sales, underwriting and fulfillment with clear and consistent guidance on Credit Policy, Philosophy/Interpretation

  • Lead Credit Exception function providing loan level underwriting exception review and approval for Client Underwriting

  • Partner with Credit Policy on Program/Procedure Updates

  • Partner with Remediation Management to Guide Quality Improvement

  • Partner with L&LD on Credit Training Initiatives for Underwriting, Fulfillment and Sales

  • Executes monthly reporting functions, including sourcing and managing data for dashboards, trackers, etc

  • Tracks expenses and helps develop budgets in coordination with Finance partners

  • Consults with senior management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements.

Builds a thorough knowledge of the department or business units functional area or products.

  • Assist in the execution of internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB or ECF. Execute LOB/ECF specific processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide Standards. Support the implementation of QA/QC processes within the LOB/ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls. Identify issues and/or control improvements for remediation, whilst assisting in building out actions plans and milestones. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Develop and direct staff. Incumbents typically have over 8+ years of risk management and LOB/ECF experience.

Required Skills:
"Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years' experience with Conventional, FHA and VA lending

  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending sales, underwriting and fulfillment policy/procedures for first, second and high net worth loan transactions

  • Independent thinking and the ability to assess if the relevant functions are performing in compliance with bank policy and the regulatory expectations

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as the job requires interaction with various parts of the organization and ongoing management reporting of the state of compliance

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills is a must

  • Strong powerpoint skills; skilled in pulling together data in a presentation format.

  • Strong excel skills

  • Strong project management and time management skills

  • Strong presentation skills

Desired Skills:

  • Prior knowledge and experience in process risk and controls or issue management

  • Previous training experience

  • Previous experience management large remote teams
