Job Description:

BCLs are responsible for working closely with two key stakeholder groups: (1) leaders across the lines of business responsible for change management, and (2) executives who lead the implementation of Operational Excellence horizontal process improvements.

BCLs will build a strong understanding of the portfolio of changes occurring in assigned areas in an effort to identify and share any risks and interdependencies between vertical projects and the horizontal programs. BCLs will also work with AI specialists to search underlying project and change databases and systems for clues to potential risks, interdependencies, and opportunities.

BCLs will join the teams responsible for horizontal execution, helping those teams to identify, escalate, and mitigate the key risks and issues that may endanger successful implementation.

the engage with the LOBs and must have specific product subject matter expertise. This position will be highly-visible, and requires a person who is very comfortable with fast-paced work, demanding timelines, and executive oversight. Must have good written skills, and be comfortable presenting to senior leaders when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage proactively with the LOB/Segment leaders, particularly those responsible for leading their change portfolios, to understand the scope of vertical projects. Build a strong understanding of the scope of the horizontal SIM portfolio.

  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities arising in the vertical change portfolio that may impact enterprise-wide horizontal SIM programs.

  • Help to design AI routines that can be used to interrogate project portfolios as a means of identifying potential interdependencies, and then investigate items arising from routines.

  • Provide qualitative feedback and reporting to change executives and to teams guiding and managing the Operational Excellence programs.

  • Work directly with horizontal program executives to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Proven ability to ask questions, challenge the status quo, and solve problems.

  • leadership in coordination efforts across multi-business unit stakeholders (e.g. shared services, service delivery)

  • Strong relationship management and ability to navigate the complexities of gaining buy-in, building consensus and resolving conflicts in a large, global, distributed organization

  • Expert communicator at executive level, able to simply and concisely communicate complex information

  • Strong data & business centric mindset with ability to utilize sound judgment and tailor approach to drive optimal outcomes

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management or internal audit or

  • 10+ years of experience in change management or project management, including a strong understanding of best practices or

  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets or investment banking, including time in a risk mgmt or project mgmt role

  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to ask questions, think on your feet, see the big picture and connect the dots.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operational risk management with experience managing the development, implementation and monitoring of a risk-based program for a functional area with high risk and complexity. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of Risk Consultants responsible for identifying risks associated with key business processes, evaluating the adequacy of controls and recommending risk mitigation strategies. In addition, the ability to develop relationships, mentor consultants and learn new processes will be key to success in this role. Additional responsibilities include influencing business partners to advance our risk management practices and strengthen our control environment.
