Business Banking & Consumer Remarketing & Sales II

Overview:

Assess current status and recovery potential by thorough review of documents and summary. Complete a collateral or asset appraisal and inspection. This position will recommend next stop process for potential remarketing if resulting in repossession for both consumer and business banking assets.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete General Security Agreement; work with appropriate vendor to schedule appraisals, for both businesses restructuring and those that are failing.

• Attend auctions for repossessions and work with vendor to have an appraisal completed.

• Contact customers to determine if the collateral can be sold on-site or will require repossession and transportation to auction venue. Complete the sale in order to liquidate the item which can be attained by auction, private sale, or done individually.

• Determine the correct vendor to hire depending on the equipment or property that needs to be liquidated.

• Determine if the bottom line prices expected at the auction are not achieved, and decide whether to sell the collateral individually or privately.

• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

• Complete other related duties as assigned

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position has frequent customer contact, coordinating schedules to perform appraisal, repossession, workout, and/or remarketing strategy.

This position has repair authority up to $2,500.00.

The main goal for this position is to maximize the net return on the liquidation of assets.

Education and Experience Required:

A combined 5 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years' experience in collections, auction/repossession and/or related experience

Proficient with computers and internet usage including word processing, spreadsheet and email software

Detail oriented

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree.

Prior legal experience.

Prior sales experience.

Knowledge of M&T Bank systems.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $24.76 - $41.27 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
