SUMMARY: With limited supervision and direction the incumbent is accountable for effective generation, evaluation, approval, and servicing of sound commercial loans within the loan policy and procedure framework of the bank. Responsibilities include underwriting commercial loans and gathering documentation for consumer loans on behalf of centralized underwriting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop relationships within the community leading to new business and generate loans according to loan policy guidelines.
Actively manage commercial banking relationships through proactive customer contacts which include identifying opportunities to fully develop commercial relationships, preparing and maintaining account plans and sales maps for each assigned relationship and actively participating in weekly sales meetings.
Work with branch managers to fully develop the Small Business Customer Relationship.
Develop prospects through professional referrals and bank referrals.
Underwrite commercial loans.
Develop commercial and consumer business and maintain relationships with current customer base.
Maintain quality portfolio as outlined in loan policy. Manage technical exceptions by correcting and providing documentation to file.
Answer questions in person or by phone regarding rates, terms and general loan information to customers.
Research and correct technical exceptions.
Review and analyze financial statements.
Analyze, approve or deny credit requests and prepare necessary documentation and disbursement.
Attend loan and other meetings, as required.
Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Uphold the Arvest Code of Ethics and ensure that confidential information is safeguarded.
Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.
Promote professionalism at all times.
May directly supervise 1 or more associates as assigned by the Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensure direct reports have completed required compliance training and are adhering to all internal procedures and controls as it relates to bank policy, laws, regulations and Arvest's BSA/AML Program. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank's procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides training, planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
