Overview

The Business Assistant II or III will provide office and financial reporting support to the S.J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources Business Services Center. The successful candidate will use knowledge and related experience to coordinate business functions for the college to initiate, complete, and facilitate financial, personnel, travel, and other functions as assigned. The position will be hired as either a Business Assistant II or III based upon qualifications, level of experience that fit the scope, and responsibilities assigned (please see the Qualifications section). A Business Assistant III will have more responsibilities with an increased scope and complexity of duties.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, review, and reconcile financial transactions.

  • Evaluate monthly budgets and financial reports for the department or program.

  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets and databases to track information.

  • Journal entries, labor reallocations, P-Card transactions, deposits, course fee reconciliation, and physical inventory.

  • May coordinate purchase and travel arrangements for faculty and staff.

  • Provides support to the Business Manager and/or Financial Officer.

  • Ensures transactions are in accordance with University (and grant agencies) policies and procedures.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The position will be hired at either a Business Assistant II or III based upon the following qualifications and responsibilities assigned:

  • Business Assistant II: Four years of related work experience, OR a business/finance bachelor's degree, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Business Assistant III: Six years of related work experience, OR a business/finance bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years of related work experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Job offer contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Banner

  • Experience with ServiceNow

Advertised Salary

Minimum of $38,000; commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits
